As it was it was a game changer.

As soon as it happened I said to Conroy they'll go on and score. He has some major brainfarts at times. Still love him though. Made for a very nervous last ten minutes.

Have to say I was right in front of it and I thought it was a simple catch for Carmont. Joel was likely to score if he kept hold of the ball but it wasn't a certainty given the players around him. Carmont on the other hand, was absolutely certain to score! All he had to do was catch the ball! It wasn't even a difficult catch either.

A second row would have just gone for the line and not considered the potentially safer option of the pass to the support player.

I thought it was a 50/50 at best as to JT scoring so the pass IMO was a 50/50 as to being the right choice.

I can only guess he was disorientated and didn't realise where he was. Could have cost us the game as it gave them a boost.

It didn't though so it can be put down to a learning experience.

Completely unbelievable at the time, turned to the bloke next to me and were both just open mouthed saying "why?" I thought all he had to do was fall over the line to put the ball down, but watching the match again last night I'm sure he was already over the line which makes it all the more frustrating. It was a game changer, but thankfully didn't change the game completely.
Totally agree with JTB having watched it back, trying too hard to be a centre. JT the second rower would have just steam rollered through.

He was over the line. Finchy was going mad as he knew it was the game and he had set it brilliantly, but we won and Joel is learning, he is not getting sucked into giving penalties away like earlier in the season. Bet he scores at Wembley by forcing his way over the line.
