As far as I'm concerned he can sh#t where he wants back in Australia! No idea and looked like an under 7 jumping around behind the ruck excited to get the ball.
Being strong in defence isn't the same as not missing tackles though. Obviously it helps if you don't miss tackles but there's a lot more to it. The Widnes game highlighted a big weakness that Hughes has when coming up against quicker opponents and he can be a little indecisive.
It makes much more sense to put the more experienced players alongside a less experienced player where possible, although on this occasion it meant Charnley and Hughes together where there isn't much experience at all.
Hughes and Gelling both on the left would have been an absolute disaster in my opinion. Gelling struggled in defence and Goulding had to cover for him, I think asking Hughes to do that would be too much for a player who had only played 4 first team games at centre up until that point.
