I have followed wigan since 1944. There were no sch things as songs to show support, replica shirts would never have been considered. At cupties supporters might wear a cherry and white scarf ( knitted by a loved one) or if you were in the money a rosette. HAPPY DAYS

Oh the joy's of football at Shawfield on a wet Wednesday night , standing 60 yards from the pitch and with so many floodlights around the dug track you couldn't see a bloody thing , just as well really the Jam Tarts couldn't buy a win there in my time. Shawfield is good for Greyhounds, Speedway and Monster truck shows now sadly since 1986, and i remember those tinnies of tinnints folk took to the game in the late 70's that had a dolly bird on the can
sadly the 1980 scottish cup final put paid to ale at the football in Scotland, mind you, in England you can get a beer pre match and at HT at a football match.. how very civilised! Alkies!!
