Roberts at Wire when Gleeson could have been obstructing - Wigan try

Smith knock on from bomb in CC when Tomkins collected loose ball and was held up. Vid ref said this was a Leeds ball. Should have been another set on the Leeds line - awful, awful decision.

Roby held up at home to Saints, no angle shows the ball even going close to the ground, but try given to Saints. Shocking

Meli scraping the ball to ground it at home to Saints, 50-50 but try given to Saints.

Richards doing almost exactly the same as Meli, but has more control, again 50-50 but try not given.


Are their anymore - anymore in favour of Wigan to prove that it evens out over the season?

The rules state that downward pressure is needed. The try scorer doesn't actually need control which is just as well for Meli because he sure didn't have any control. I didn't think Meli or Richards had downward pressure so both should have been no try IMO. Richards hand was possibly in touch as well. It was good defending to stop the try which Richards would normally have scored against most teams and so I suppose the defending team deserved some reward.

Stevo confuses people because he seemingly doesn't know or remember the rules.

I dont think it was a try at all as he never had any control at all and have no complaints about the decision.

I personally thought his left hand had hit the whitewash when he ' grounded ' it .

I agree totally, Dougy. Also the Mathers knock on after Joel kicked through. How did Child (VR) not spot that? Wire fans have claimed that advantage was played, but no advantage accrued, so it would be back to 1st offence ( ie Mathers' knock on). In fact, I'm not sure that Faz even knocked on - the ball hit his leg/midriff before Riley kicked it away.

I'm also surprised Silverwood didn't go to the video ref when Myler scored - he got to the ball very quickly. Sky never showed the overhead shot in their replay of the try to indicate whether it was onside/offside. Contrast when Silverwood blew for offside against Sam when Leuluai kicked in the air and Richards "scored" - immediate blowing up without going to the VR. Sky didn't really dwell on any replay.

One cannot deny that in all 3 crucial games there have been numerous bad calls that have seemingly all gone against Wigan ( sinbinning of Faz against Leeds, but no action taken against Peacock and Senior), awarding of doubtful tries to Saints and now a catalogue of errors/failure to punish high shots and police offside against Warrington.

They say these bad decisions/injusices even themselves out in the course of a season - let's hope so, because Wigan are due a few in their favour!

This may be seen as "sour grapes" - Wigan lost for numerous reasons, they dropped the ball too much etc. However, if the above incorrect decisions had not been made, Wigan might have had 3 close wins not 3 close defeats!
