Which day(s) is this on? One of the girls has booked ours, going on Friday and coming back on Monday, but she didn't mention anything about this. Would surprise me though, the trip home last year took about 6 hours and included a coach journey from Lancaster to Preston.

West coast main line is having upgrades done to it that weekend as it does on all bank holidays so your trip back could again be partially on a coach

Haymarket is the station you want, but most trains go to both and your ticket is usually valid from "edinburgh" which includes both stations

Must be said that it doesn't always stop at Haymarket though.

Dead easy trip on the train when things are actually operational ([size=85apart from when the points fail at Lockerbie[/size), but I wish they would start doing these jobs on the line outside of the football season and avoiding a clash with Magic!
