Good interview with IL on GMR - anyone hear it?

Basically:
a) when he was in Australia he was disappointed by some of the players he had on his hit list, but saw a few that he felt that we could pursue
b) wants to hook up with an Aussie club so we can swap players
c) wants to see more youngsters come through the ranks
d) sounds like he wants Noble to get to/win a final before he offers a new contract

He seems to be talking the talk, let's just see what the next few months bring...

Nothing new gained from the interview.

What is depressing is that he again referred to next season AND the season after, it seems every year recruitment will always be for the season after next. He promised we would see big changes in 2010 but im less confident than ever now.

When listening to the interview I realised that there's something that irritates me about Lenagan and you've helped me put my finger on it.

The fact is the bloke does love the spotlight - he does more than any other SL chairman to stay in it. IMO he's all talk and a little arrogant in all honesty.

He was banging on about some prop who is 24, reminds him of J Graham and did 60 minuted straight. Just made his Origin debut.

As if we will sign him, why even talk about it.

d) worries me. A cup final or even a win should not guarantee BN a new deal a league final should but given the nature of the cup i do not think given the rest of the performances a cup win would justify a new contract as it would basically mean playing well in 2 games.

On top of that it will be very late in the day to be looking for a top quality coach to replace him, or retain him. The decision in my opinion on BN's future needs to be made now at the latest, there is no point in waiting till the end if the year for any party.

From the interview, it sounded like Noble was staying to me. As long as we pick up form and momentum for the rest of the year.

May be the reason BN and IL do not get on allegedly, both show pony's who crave the media spotlight.

Who says the don't get on? The impression I get is always the opposite.
