| At what point in the season do we think the merits of giving our squad players, particularly the less experienced ones, a run out in the 17, in what will be a modest to heavy loss, outweigh the merits of giving other SL teams young squad players a run out in what will likely be a modest to heavy loss?
I’ve no desire to see us put out an even weaker side but my thinking here is we have had 3 such players in our 17 for the last few games without obvious gain. Would inclusion of our squad players deliver an obviously poorer result (is that even possibly in respect of some of our results?) These squad players are likely going to be in our Championship squad for next year and bearing in mind (a) there aren’t too many mugs in that league it might be good if they got some ‘learning’ now and (b) our recruitment in last few years has been shambolic so would good to have a few players already in post if the inevitable failure to recruit occurs and we pick up some knocks. We’d also save a few Bob which may be a factor. This short term loan thing (and from teams in our own division) just doesn’t seem right.
