It's and expense, like a playing squad of more than the bare bones, the 2 coaches he was assured of when he reluctantly took the job and like buying a Dusty coloured horses outfit to match the frigging mascots bloody name......if only we had a commercial manager who would sell the front of our shirt sponsorship rather than contra the spaces everywhere else and get matchday sponsors who aren't our "partners" already......

We need to win this game. Haven are one of a handful who I'd expect to struggle this year and we need daylight between us and the trapdoor by july

It's disrespectful to fans not be ready for first game. First time in 35 years we lost at home to Batley and shrugged off because we were undercooked.

I thought I read we were all ready to go last week. Now it looks like it wasn’t just the sponsors and shirts that were behind the curve. We really must start taking literally that the season starts when the authorities say it starts and plan to be ready for week one. This run of games to end March looks one where we should pick up points. We can’t afford to slow start again.
On the 2 coaches I’m going to take it as no announcements made that they never came or morphed into the 2 academy coaches that were announced a few months back.
On the plus side merch is now available on the website. On the down side it’s a leap of faith as it’s difficult to see quite what you are buying.
Agree on contra Orange if I have understood the reference. These sponsors don’t look like sponsors in the main, but “partners”. Slight worry if we couldn’t get real sponsors. Maybe if the season goes well we might get a few high street shops in Wimbledon/Tooting to sponsor us but it looks a step down.

Is there a Poundshop in Wimbledon?

Suspect not but I really wouldn’t be surprised if there is one in Tooting Broadway. I wonder if we only spread our net one mile to right of the ground and not looked one mile to left. Not easy is it but all a bit worrying.

No Benny, no Poundshop in Wimbledon or Primark if you were going to ask. Tooting on the other hand has both.

Had a look at the stuff on sale at the Batley game and can't say I was overly impressed. Didn't look particularly good quality, pretty boring designs and over priced. Let's hope we come out with some other stuff during the course of the season.

Delighted. Sounds like we got it right first 30 minutes and then were a bit patchy.
Doesn’t look like our Fijian recruit is fit otherwise not sure why he’s not playing. I noticed again that Albert didn’t seem to play long minutes and the other PNG signing is presumably still not in England so lucky that we got 3 loanees in from Wigan.
Still think we should have more competition for kicking duties- the extra points are really important.

Our kicking game remains poor and we are crying out for an experienced half back, that was a very poor whitehaven team, I would be really worried tonight if I was one of their supporters, but I'm not ! Billy Leyland did well off the bench (grabbed our 3rd try from dummy half) and Wigan's youngsters put in a good shift. We bombed at least 2 tries and made it difficult for ourselves but at it's a better feeling travelling home tonight than the previous 2 trips to Haven. Swinton's win at Batley is food for thought after our 10 point defeat to them last week

Leyland B is doing well. Needed the win with both Swinton and Newcastle having points on the board. Sometimes you just have to get over the line and we did that so encouraging but it is a worry we are relying on short term loanees so early in the season.
