| As we head for the 4th month of the season, it would seem that all emphasis has switched from "self sufficiency in 2026" to "let's say nothing and hopefully we can start again next year"
The move to Wimbledon is going exactly the way many believed it would. After spending 50K+ on stupid newspaper adverts and announcing a KO time, a few curious dons fans & community club players rolled up for the opener and since then crowds have gone downwards at an alarming rate. There has bee zero effort put into game day experience, with a belated reference to the club asking for volunteers but getting none? Why was this not planned back on November/December?
Ticket prices have already been adjusted "downwards", but there appears to be little activity to attract new fans.
One of the chief architects of this fiasco is on his toes, whilst the accountant who is playing at being a CEO is recruiting people mid season?
Social media, be that Facebook, Twitter of the club site is a shambles, with little if any relevant and up to date information available. Match reports appear 2 days after the game, whilst score updates during games are either sporadic or piggy-backed off the opponents sites. Links on the club website are either broken or incorrect, with even the new ticketing prices not updated and the "wire frame" of the site itself is amateur.
Tickets can only be sourced via the club site if you click on "tickets" and scroll to the very foot of the page........and ONLY tickets for the Bradford game are available, where earlier in the season all games were available.
Fans of the club who have criticised or commented on aspects of this unfolding carnage have simply been banned from social media aspects, in what I can only imagine is an effort to stop anything of a negative nature get to David Hughes attention.
On the pitch, the team is "gradually" showing signs of becoming competitive, (although a hail Mary bomb and an opponent error in the 79th minute earning us a draw is hardly time for champagne cork popping) but with no wins in 6 games we languish in a relegation battle and if we aren't on 7 points before we get "evicted" for a month, we really will be in a massive fight for our existence.
Other clubs when faced with such chaos would expect the owner or CEO to come out with a statement of sorts, but it would seem that 2022 is already being written off.
Tickets for the Bradford game seem to be at about 250 with another 6 in the South Stand.....I would expect the Bradford attendance to be 1,500+, but my biggest fear is that we will be outnumbered by away fans at only our 4th League outing and there seems to be no urgency from the club to change this?
I am registered (and as yet not banned) to receive emails from the club, the last of which was on March 2nd (3 weeks ago) regarding the cheaper prices to sit with Hughes and not make the platinum lounge look like a ghost town. I have expressly given permission to be emailed, yet nobody at the club has seen fit to send anything about the 2 games since, nor any club news and no promotions for the Bulls game.......
The average number of likes the club get to a tweet is 31 this season....our facebook page is infeected with trolls offering snide links and our email system is ignored.
This is just 4 months since David Hughes said
Quote “For our Club to get back to the Super League, and to rekindle some of those memories we all have, there will need to be a period of re-building, laying strong foundations, and that period is starting now but we will need all of you to help us make this work.'"
...yet the silence is deafening.
So the question is, what is going on at the London Broncos RLFC? Is there a plan and if so what is the next stage, because from the outside looking in it very much looks like the wheels have fallen off and the club is heading for relegation and associated receivership.

So the question is, what is going on at the London Broncos RLFC?
Yes rapidly becoming a complete mess off the field as opposed to on it - although as you say still a lot to do there as well. I’ve said before and I think it may be true we have a one man back room staff and he leaves in a few days. Complete silence could be the new norm. Hardly a relaunch is it?
The drop in likes on Twitter tells a story of customer disengagement and the fact the club no longer prune the almost entirely negative comments on recent posts tells a story about club disengagement. With apologies to the guy on the other forum who spotted it,and just to add to the grimness of it all, check out the game day/platinum lounge tab and see what game is being touted there. It makes the Bradford/York banner fiasco look positively competent.
Bearing in mind how complicated it is to buy a ticket for the Bradford game 250 is not a bad result. But where from there? I think we have only 4 home games in 4 months and one of those is a Friday night game. I’m no mystic Meg but attendance at that will be terrible. How can you build momentum on that even if we were semi competent.
If we get through this I think the club will be stronger because it’s in a right state at the minute and things do look very bad. Skolars season starts soon and we’ll be able to assess the damage we have done to them.

| To follow up, I've always hoped/prayed that the club would sort itself out.
After seeing the shambles we are, added to being banned on SM (for asking questions like why is there no programmes/what is the actual team) I think the club deserves all ot gets ow. Any hope/sympathy is long gone for me. My only interaction is the odd look on here.
Let's be honest, it's not even a PT club, its runike a pub team. Shameful really

He told them he was leaving at the end of the season, but then Hughes threw a fit and sacked him on the spot. But yes he was not going to stay for 2022. I'm guessing he did not want to go PT, and why should he.

| What a heart breaking decline for a once great club. Hughes is totally responsible for this for allowing himself to have a greater than thou know it all attitude and aided and abetted by a lobster and a monkey

| The exact same thing is going on that we have seen in the past so no surprise with where we find ourselves.. The club really needed to step up to make a success of this move but has failed to do so. Hughes is diabolical owner. Yes he seems to have some money and a love the game but is clearly clueless on how to run the club and incapable of recruiting someone suitable to do it. He has turned us from SL playoff regulars with almost sustainable crowd numbers into a club that will be lucky to survive in Championship.

Gus Mackay's appointment, the name reverting back and subsequent move to the hive can be seen as key moments, but Loubser has been in place now for nearly a decade.
Yes, Hughes is a truly awful owner, but he is not alone in being culpable......one rat has already left the sinking ship and you wonder how long it'll be before Loubser follows suit.

Gus Mackay's appointment: beyond disaster. Move to the Hive: worse than that (if that's possible).
But name reverting back a bad thing? Sorry, not for me. I was never happy being a perfunctory adjunct to a RU club where we had averaged nearly three times their crowds at *their ground* a few years before.
No one else will remember this. but when we played at The Stoop against Halifax(?) in the Challenge Cup back in the Centenary Season (again it's a ?), there was one tiny member's stand and the rest was a rope around a field. And on that member's stand they had posters for a book that read "Brian Moore: Scourge of the Establishment, Man of the People". "Scourge of the Establishment" who plays for England RU? (And I may be wrong, but wasn't his "profession" stockbroker at the time?) Sorry, no: I laughed then, and I still think it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
But I'm surprised you, orangeman, are saying this: Hughes employed them so it's his fault.

| Probably the only thing Gus got right was arguing against the return to Broncos, he argued for a new name believing the idea thousands of lapsed Broncos fans would return was cobblers and it would encourage lazy marketing. A few people in t-shirts with Broncos are back on the rear of the shirts was pretty much the entire marketing / fan engagement work. Can't think why that failed.
Fast forward to 2022 and the same errors are being made.

'"
To be clear, Harlequins RU was a huge opportunity for the Broncos. Whereas we had 2 port-a-cabins and not much else in the The Stoop part 1, we were given office space, access to the shop and the Union clubs contracts with their suppliers, a bolt on to their web and social media supplier, access to their local chamber of commerce connections as well as (to start with) forward thinking CEO's at BOTH clubs.
Paul Brown leaving (there's more to that than "illness"...check how Hughes gets on with people who don't agree with him) almost immediately we arrived hurt us. He was a RL man with vast experience of working to tight budgets at Croydon. Mark Evans was a realist at QRU, who saw the benefit of The Stoop being used 52 weeks a year, as well as expanding the "Quins" brand. Bloodgate really put the mockers on that and by the time he left (2010/11), we had already burn bridges with other contacts at the Union Club...so as our ally left, Mackay arrived.
He sacked our hardest working member of staff, citing she was "a luxury" and proceeded to try and do everything......torching the remainder of the relationships with the hosts in the process. In the 39 "home games" we played at the Stoop under his watch (4 OTR games in there) he averaged 2,700 fans...the previous 3 seasons we averaged 3,429. Under MacKay we hired and fired a marketing executive who the went to work for the Union club and ended up in a senior role at Wimbledon Tennis. Under Mackay we hired cricketing people to market us) Under Mackay we had Powell, Rea and Grima as coaches before he left us 8 years ago this Saturday, having firstly convinced our owner that Harlequins RL was being interpreted as Harlequins Rugby Lessons by schoolkids before buying www. londonbroncosRL.com and giving the shirt contract to a mate from cricket. He also nabbed 30k off SELCO for shirt sponsorship that was earmarked for London youth RL. Under Mackay we went from 3,400 to a relegation season 1,294 in which he jumped mid season to be unemployed for 2 years thereafter.......he shed 2,100 fans in 3 seasons and a month
The above is a pretty precise description of how we absolutely messed up the biggest opportunity the club had since being rescued from the brink on 2005.
You are correct. Hughes employed Gus & must shoulder the blame, but don't let your belief that "union is the enemy" colour your view of the chance we had. When we arrived at the Stoop II, we averaged just short of 5k.......our hosts were heading for the 2nd tier where they would average about 8k......by the time we left, we averaged 2,213 and they were on 18,800 with their Big Game thing in its infancy.
As a professional Marketer I find the constant neglect of any joined up campaign planning and strategy at the club infuriating, but the reality is that calling ourselves Harlequins Rugby League was not and will never be the reason we find ourselves facing L1 rugby with fewer than 400 fans in 2023. Brian Mc Dermott's inability to get us above 7th in his time at the club, combined with horrendous appointments by Hughes into key positions did it.
And with a final throw of the dice, using a CEO and Commercial Manager who have delivered nothing but decline during their tenure, Hughes has drawn a line in the sand, citing a 5k figure or bust by 2026, giving him an out. If I make it over there next year I will happily pay whatever fee it is to get into the platinum lounge and tell him as much to his face, but it's nothing to do with once being quinsRL.....that was a missed opportunity that Gus used to blame for his shortcomings

Interesting news? Is it coming from featherstone rovers Twitter feed? Maybe on the Leigh website? Fax instagram?
BOSG delivered a name for a drinking club.....LBSA actually delivers value and a great many members who volunteered over the years....BOSG should be binned, all social media bans cancelled and olive branches and apologies offered by Loubser and Hughes.

It'll take more than that to keep us up. Looking at Coleman's records at the Skolars, he only ever once recorded 8 wins in a season and his Win record is about 22% as a coach across all comps. Sheffield stayed up with 5 wins & 3 draws, Barrow went down with 5 wins and a draw after staying up with 5 wins and 3 draws the year before......we have 1 draw so far having lost 3 at home to mid table sides....in fact, fax and haven are bottom half sides just above us, so I'd say a new coach will be more key than more journeymen. I'd splash the cash and look for fringe SL squad players and buy our way out of this mess.
It's the one thing we know Hughes has got.....cash.
