Agree with you re Bienek, and I am a fan of his especially as he is a local product, he is still a work in process though, think most folk still think we need a big experienced older head in the squad.

Woodsys parting shot is to conduct a review on "return of investment^ and value in the comp.

Toronto turned down the 75k last year and I believe have waived the 150k central funding this year, as well as covering costs for UK clubs travel and accommodation. This year the investment from their sponsor is minimised by the skewed fixture list with the added bonus of no "extra" costs for getting Toulouse to an airport served by AirTransat.........so to date, they've diluted the talent pool and sorted out an extremely minor TV deal in Canada with a bolt on of "shed tv" coverage in the UK through premiere.
There have been repeated stories of the biggest task last year being keeping the squad sober and out of houses of Ill repute, as they knew a they had to do was turn up........
...I am increasingly under the impression that the business plan is to get teams into SL to receive the SKY cash to cover some running costs and then look for a TV deal.......and that's not a pan, but more of a "punt"........something along the lines of PSG and to a lesser extent, us.

Adam Pearson and his fellow 11 SL crusaders who believe that by May we will be able to compete with Union will dictate who joins them at the table. Currently I see a Toronto Wolpack side with a contra-deal for their main shirt sponsor, with no other paying sponsors, no paying TV deal and no plans other than chasing a SL paycheck in the "hope" that they can then deliver a TV deal......and to me, it's becoming more of a pipe dream by every turn of the page.

If the North Americans see enough of top RL, they may get hooked, so don't rule out TV deals. TV is always looking for something new, you never know if RL may be it. Don't rule out TWP, they sure know how to charm the media.

Halifax have asked but unfortunately as a few clubs have pointed out to me the Wankpack have been very smart with their words when they joined stating they will cover all clubs costs for games in Canada. No mention of covering costs outside of Canada. In all fairness I don't think they should have to anyway. Halifax would have to pay to go to Cumbria or London Skolars so if the game is in the UK it should be Halifax who pay.

Thankfully Halifax have cash and will likely stay over anyway. Just hope they turn these lot over in front of a massive crowd of 120 Canadians
