It's possible for one man to largely carry the team in attack but he still needs the other players to defend. If you want to know what happens when that isn't the case you only need look at London Broncos when we had Craig Gower playing for us and 12 players around him who couldn't tackle for toffee (or in some cases, wouldn't tackle for toffee).

The other risk of course is that you end up like Warrington toward the end of Briers playing days, if you were able to effectively target Briers you completely disrupted the Wire attack. Having a single playmaker makes you very vulnerable.

Very true. Maybe we should re-sign Clubby after his display of skilful tactical kicking in the GF. Would help with our prop problem too.

Still need the props to create a platform. Even the best playmaker in the world will struggle if he only gets possession in his own half.
I've said it before, every half back looks better in their 30m area than he does in his own.
