I think that's the way the coaches of teams who ended up in the Championship Shield will have sold the last few weeks of the season - the chance to play in a Final (Grand or otherwise!) and win a trophy. Ok we all know it's "best of the rest" but it at least gives players and fans of London & Fev the chance to end the season on an upbeat note.

Agree. But It's what the competition is called, agree it's pretentious and slightly embarrassing....

Who cares, let them enjoy it. Some young guys that have had a tough season. As gets said on here, if you don't like what they write, ignore them and don't read it

Like just about everybody else on here I was very sniffy about this loser's competition that we "qualified" for. But it has given the coach and players something to aspire to in what would otherwise have been a completely meaningless last couple of months of the season. And now that they've achieved a place in the final, I'd like to see them all fired up to win it.

I appreciate it's a bit of a trek, to a town that's less than pleasent (Makes Fev look like Monte Carlo) but it would be good to have cracking atmosphere.

Many of you won't have witnessed a proper Fev away day, it's certainly an experience. Expect the Widnes branch of Wetherspoons to be dry by 3pm.

I am coming, though timing of game is a pain, getting home is going to be a real issue!

It also is advertised as the Chamionship Shield Final, not Grand Final, maybe the player getting overexcited!

After the way they have covered Rl this year and the rumours of them doing away with boots n all (yes I know it wasn't very good) but it was better than nothing. I think I will wait until the new season and see what they not going to do with league and lack of coverage, but at the moment I think sky might be losing another customer

Not showing League 1 final either which has been televised for past few years. It would bizarrely appear that not allowing other channels to show the games is more important to them.

Many areas booking in the unreserved area, me included as it happens. Of course when we do the Lap of Honour I'm sure we can come together from wherever we sit.

In the media it says on Sky, are they broadcasting them on the internet platform, like they did with Wigan V Castleford last week?

You would think the whole event would be ideal for Sky, three live games in one stadium. Plus looking at the schedules, there is a load of rubbish on Sky sports 2 & 3 all afternoon. Could have replaced that. But as you say, buying the rights is more about stopping others showing it.
