Anyone attending any of the friendlies?

As I'm in Spain in Jan I may 'nip' to the Catalans game.

Should be at Catalan game and hope to make skolars

I will travel to watch the Skolars game even though I believe that the Catalan + Skolars matches will not feature the top team whereas the 1st Feb frinedly against the Dewsbury Rams friendly will. Full battle commences on 15th Feb v Doncaster in Round 1.

Would love to go to cats but alas no. Agree with torbrek I think the Dewsbury game will be the telling one and will give us an idea of what we have ahead of us for the season.
Might go and have a look at the skolars new pitch.

Wants to see if it matches the pink boots

Having played on it, just want to see how much an improvement it is. The pitch at New River was always pretty horrible, its very different surface to play on, so looking at it from a professional view. So yep mate you could call it a hobby and thinking about what boots to wear if I get down their again.

We aren't and we aren't.......suspect all 25 will see game time in all 3 games.

Think you'll see the potential first 13 starting the game against Dewsbury and some of the main people onthrough the game. Not sure every player will get game time in this last game but probably won't be far short

I know Barthau and Riley were on crutches but surely we have 20+ fit first teamers?

If you read correctly, it's the Under 19's who are struggling with injuries, not the 1st Team.

But why do we need any under 19s if we have a 20-something man first team squad?

This is my concern too.
We have a 25 man squad who are all pretty much strangers in terms of "game time" and there's no way any amount of practice pitch drills that can prepare the team for actual competitive games....I would have hope that we would have played all 3 friendlies as full squad matches, with all 25 getting game time and the final one pretty much our first 17!
Also, the Trip to the south of France? Is it a bit of a luxury we could do without, in that preparing for a cold February in South Yorkshire isn't going to be helped by playing in temps some 8 degrees higher.

Maybe some team bonding, weekend away together??

Possibly, but given the guys have been together (mainly) since November, they should be as thick as thieves now anyway.

Catalan friendly, kick off now 5pm

Well we are playing in the delights of North London and then the edges of Clekhudersfax so am sure the boys will appreciate a couple of days in the sun down in Catalonia.

I don't think any reasonable Soul would begrudge them some R&R and French hospitality.
