| He is at Penrith with his brother Wes.
Kevin plays full back and wing. But London has just bought Richie Mathers to play full back. Kevin Naiqama would be wasted on the wing. So it makes no sense, especially since London has no top class centres.

Judging by the title he was speaking about Wes not Kevin.....
I know of neither anyway

| If you haven't heard of Wes Naigama you didn't see any of the last two World Cups. He was captain of semi finalists Fiji in 2008, and stood down as captain of semi finalists Fiji in 2013 for the legend Petero Civoniceva.

Sorry, you are right. I just saw Naiqama and immediately thought of Kevin, who is an outstanding talent.
Th e fact that it is brother Wes, who is a centre, puts a whole new perspective on things.
Wes Naiqama played NRL for St George-Ilawarra a few years ago. He was quite good then. Subsequently he went to Penrith but has not had many first grade/NRL appearances there, with the likes of Kiwi international Dean Whare and Jamal Idris ahead of him. But Wes would be a good buy for London since he is an experienced and very capable centre and noticeably above the average quality at Championship level. I hope that it is true, and that London also buys Jean-Phillipe Baile from Catalans. With Mathers at full back, Naiqama and Baile in the centres, and Barthau and Keyes in the halves that could mean that London would have a very good backline.

Looked pretty good when I saw him playing for Fiji, reckon he'd be a good 'un for us.

Ben Farrar is a utility back who could cover full back, centre and the halves. He could still have a place in the team even though he has been a disappointment.
But whether he is being retained or not I do not know.

| Wes is over 30 and hasn't played regular firstgrade for about 4 years.
He played 73 games of firstgrade for Newcastle, but he only had about 2 good years and the rest of the time he was in and out of firstgrade.
His best time at Newcastle was as a fullback, but he also played wing and centre.
His best playing days were in his early 20s at Saint George when he had some real pace, but he lost that pace a long time ago.
His best attribute now is his goal kicking. He has got better and better at that over the years and has been kicking in the high 80% range for the last few years. Something like 88%.

Having one attribute would still place him higher than Ben Farrar.

Following that description of him, he would probably jump at the chance to come to London, especially if they are offering him more money than Penrith. He won't crack the NRL at Penrith while Whare and Idris and brother Kevin are fit.
Apart from his excellent goal kicking, which is valuable, he might still have enough pace for the Championship, especially if he is playing centre. My questions would be: (1) does he have good ball control; (2) does he have elusive footwork (his brother sure does); (3) is he a reasonably good defender? If the answer to all three is yes, then he should be snapped up immediately.

| (1) does he have good ball control; Surprizingly, yes he does. In his young days he had hands like feet, but these days he has safe hands.
(2) does he have elusive footwork (his brother sure does); Not really. He is 100+ kg and breaks tackles with strength, but footwork is not his thing.
(3) is he a reasonably good defender? Yes. He is a good defender at NRL level. Good enough to play second row in a few games for the Knights and do the job well in defence.

Based on your judgment of Wes Naiqama's talents, I would think that London should be very enthusiastic about signing him.

| Wow... and official now. I wonder if Jamie Soward had a helping hand in this too, but either way some top recruitment from Joey Grima. Just praying the 2015 season isn't another damp squib and we win promotion. Great news!!

Soward sure did give us a few good words as seen from this article; www.times-series.co.uk/sport/114 ... os/?ref=la
Great stuff. Really looking forward to next season. Just hope we get an investor to stay at the Hive now! Let's build some Community roots in North West London.

| How many clubs get promoted to Super League at the end of 2015?
I assume that Leigh has the front running. But London may now have the second best squad. The question is whether two clubs will get promoted.

| Great signing for you guys, and the quality he brings will be a big step in getting back into SL. Surprised that he slipped under the radar of the SL Clubs, as he'd do a good job in the top flight.

As I understand it then it's not that simple. The answer is somewhere between none and 4. If a championship side finishes in the top three of the middle eight then they will be promoted, if a championship side wins the playoff between 4th and 5th then they will be promoted.
If the top 3 clubs in the middle 8 are Superleague teams and the other Superleague wins the 4th v 5th play-off match then no new teams will be in the superleague the following season.

| Despite some very positive signs on the recruitment front, I can still only see a Championship side gaining promotion if a SL side in the middle 8 has suffered a financial meltdown on the scale that we have this year or has the worst injury list in history. On that last point, I wonder whether there will be any restrictions on loan players for the middle 8 in that period?

| The thing to take in to account, at the start of super 8 lower tier top4 will have been winning, bottom 4 of super league will have been losing. It's a new aproach, it might inject a bit of life into a flagging sport.
back end of next season could be interesting and you could see a few surprises and changes
