Skolars have announced that they are playing Wigan at the HAC on Friday 24 Jan. This being an annual fixture with us until now I suspect it's more proof - if needed - that Broncos are dead

"It should be noted that it is still our intention to arrange our traditional match with London Broncos in January and we will make an announcement on this fixture in due course"

The Broncos couldn't commit. I wonder why? They know the sort of dates that these events usually take place so it could be the 87,439th error from those in charge.

I don't really understand what the Broncos have that sees them unable to commit to a date, I can't imagine that teams are queuing up to play them.

Chances of Broncos having a team by January are probably close to zero.

Good for Skolars. It's become tradition to play at the HAC every year and I've got to quite like the freezing cold Fridays followed by a few beers. Wigan will probably bring a bigger crowd in than Broncos did!

Can they sell many more tickets than they usually do? and remember it is midweek!

Saracens played there and had a temporary stand(s) put up. I imagine that will be too much for Skolars and I think you are right that has a certain capacity.

Good on the Skolars, a real coup them getting the double winners for their pre-season HAC game! I don't suppose we would be able to provide an opposition, credible or otherwise!

Don't think as I said earlier that the attendance will be much bigger, if Wigan did put a cricket score on it would knock the game back in London and sadly I can't see currently Skolars ever developing much further, no way would I travel 250 miles each way for that. I don't knock the Loyal Skolars supporters and the club itself who have worked so hard, so much respect, but they at stuck at this level!

It is a friendly, the Broncos have stuck big scores on the Skolars in this fixture in the past and it has done them no harm. The idea of the fixture is to get sponsors! and Skolars do. Expect the Skolars to go damn close to getting promoted this season, they were not far off last time!

If Broncos go tits up I reckon Skolars should appropriate the name.

Broncos finished 2nd in 1997 in Super League, but we never maintained the success, if Skolars get promoted would they increase crowds or maintain success, no one knows! you never remember those not far off!

The most interesting aspect of this for me will be to see whether Ian Lenagan can utilise this as a way of getting additional funding or sponsorship for Wigan from the City - something the Broncos patently failed to do.

I find it amazing that you are amazed by the Broncos commercial ineptitude.
