18-08-12 / The Sun report the club is moving to Gillingham, The CEO does nothing on Live TV to dispell this rumour
18-08-12 / CEO states that is may be November before the new coach is anounced
21-08-12 / Three days later, Tone Rea is announced as the new head coach.
08-09-12 / 2,525 watch the Broncos win their last game of the season, finishing in 12th position with the lowest ever average for a season…2,808
08-09-12 / No official announcements are made at the end of seasons awards……the home ground and info in 2013 ST's are still a mystery.


No matter who you are, there is no way that a positive spin can be put on any of the above timeline. 5 of the worst 6 SL attendances in the clubs history, the lowest gate for a SL team in the Challenge Cup, a paying sponsor for only 13% of the time, a coach that delivered 9 SL wins out of 47 games before being demoted (note..not sacked, demoted), the hiring and firing of staff into roles they weren't qualified to do, the appointment of a cricket manufacturer to produce RL equipment, no clarification as to where the club will be playing their home games in 2013 and beyond, non delivery on a number of pre-season promises...it is depressing reading.

There are about 19 more home games for the London side until the next set of SL Licences are awarded in July 2014.......Of these 19 opportunities to invite people (FANS.INVESTORS.SPONSORS) to home games, chances are, 4 will be played away from the Stoop.......and the "G" word will no doubt raise it's ugly head again when the club yet again fail to deliver on any of the wild promises that will no doubt be made in the run up to the start of next season.

SKY Pump 1.3 million a year into the club, the gate receipts, shop and bar deliver another 900,000.......and David Hughes another 1.5 million....3.7 million a year in turn over....
From 2015, without more fans, a sponsor and/or an investor to replace DH, the total income for the club will be 2.2 million.......that's a 41% drop in income...cold hard facts Ladies and Gents, and guess what......the CEO/Chairman are running around trying to save a few grand on rent chasing a new landlord.....one option being in Kent, the other a soccer pitch that is too small for full time RL.......anything to disguise abject failure elsewhere at the club.

Does anyone here have any faith in the clubs ability off the field to deliver a business plan other than "David Hughes will bankroll us for 3 more years"?

yeah i agree with most of that not negativity for the sake of it but the reality, no one can say the broncos are a well run business at the moment. How does the owner david hughes make his money? inherited? as he hasnt applied the guidlines in the good bussiness text book to the bronco's/quins so far...



on the bright side broncos avoided the battle for the wooden spoon, i really want to offer some ideas on this forum maqybe in another threadmi just signed up but want to help this sport in an area where i belive the potiential is definitly there...

08-09-12 / The club beat Hull KR at home to ensure they have still never finished a season in a 'relegation' spot

I completely agree that the management, marketing and communications are very poor and a lot needs to be done to improve matters. The team though are doing their bit - posting wins and playing exciting football. If that continues to next season and we are a) never bottom of the league and b) challenging for a play off spot (even if we don't get to the play offs) that'll be judged to have done well.

Although it'll all be for nought if the SL license isn't renewed. That'll be the biggest judge of the season after that!

My guess is that the club have shut up shop until January!

It seems that the fans of the London Broncos, and they deserve a lot of credit, have had enough of the shambolic running of what is allegedly one of the fourteen elite Rugby League sides in Europe.

The timeline above, the attendances for the past three or four years and the fact the club are employing an intern to be in sole charge of a position of responsibility are huge signs that the club is being run into the ground. David Hughes is a fantastic man and he has to be commended and thanked for putting in millions of his own money into the club but other people behind the scenes are allowing the club to fail.

No sponsors, no kits, no Season Ticket updates. This is all someone's fault. That may sound harsh but its all simple things that fans of the other 13 Super League clubs get without having to think or panic, not at London Broncos.

That is why a Fans Trust needs to be formed in my opinion. The people on here are passionate Broncos fans. Gutterfax and his weekly (probably daily) rants about attendances, Dave Lister, Dartchris, Poplar Panther etc are all passionate fans and have the best interest of the club at heart. I'm not suggesting that the few supporters left, lets be honest its not many, should buy the club but a type of pressure group is what's needed. Why are these failings happening every year and who's to blame? Why are these people allowed to fail?

I didn't have a go at David Hughes, he's a hero for saving the club for so long. Without him, the club would not be in existance right now, I'm almost certain of that.

The big problem is Hughes is putting his own money in year after year and is seeing it wasted. That clown Gus must have a heart of ice, what is his job? I've not seen anything that makes me think that he's good for the club.

You can guarantee that for the first home game of 2013, like the previous three or four, the club will have made the same mistakes. There will be no sponsorship on the shirt, the shirts won't be available to buy, Season Tickets will be sent out late, the marketing will be as easy to find as Lord Lucan and the attendances will be extremely poor. Below Hughes, the club is mismanaged.

You give a lot of disrespect towards Broncos fans as well. I'm sure there are some very intelligent fans in some very good employment roles.

I'm sure they are but they wont be experts in running a sports club and if they are they wont do it for free.

Rubbish. I have seen numerous cases over the years, in both Rugby Union and lower league Soccer, where supporters have assisted clubs in many ways, whether this be a supporters own business or where they have been influencial at a higher level in their company.

Evidence of the club networking currently stands at getting the players a free gum shield and not a lot else.

Supporters can run raffles and collect £100 and pay for Gus's wine. Hand out a few flyers etc which is hardly club defining.

As for contributing to a clubs strategy development etc forget it

I'm not sure how supporters could do much worth. There are probably quite a few supporters involved in running much larger and more successful businesses.

Nonsense, all of our supporters are retired with too much time on their hands who are happy to hand out flyers all day.
