I enjoyed that match. It was the first time I'd seen Skolars play and they look pretty nifty (a bit too lax for a spell in the second half though; had me on the edge of my seat thinking they might give their great lead away completely!).

I hope they win their next game too. It would be such a boost to see them into the play offs for the first time. What an encouragement for the club, team and fans that would be.

The Skolars are really quick, even if they don't always pass so well. Smokie Junior is one of the fastest players I've ever seen.
Lamont Bryan looks huge at that level.

Only saw the first half, but enjoyed it thoroughly. The left wing Junior ? reminded me of a young Des Drummond.

For the second home game Skolars played out of their skins and pulled off a win against the odds. All heart and effort and not a little skill. The pack were awesome and who says we can't beat Donny, who only have to win to become champs. If my maths are right a draw would suit both sides.

Get along to New River next Sunday to see another epic.

So pleased for the Skolars club. All that hard work is finally paying off. Every player played their part in a thoroughly deserved win.

Mind you, what about Lamont's faux pas in his post-match interview? I found it amusing but not sure he has a future in after-dinner speaking.



Oh, and what about the non-streaking streaker? That was bizarre how he got over the fence and vanished into the blue yonder!

To top it off, Howard of Effingham school beat Cas in the schools final before the Challenge Cup final today. I know they are a Surrey school but hey, it's another achievement for an area outside the north and so I'm well pleased. I hope they really enjoyed their day.

Skolars were well beaten unfortunately, 8-48. Defence was extremely ropey, particularly the centres and wingers. The number 4 must have missed more tackles than he completed. Who was wearing the 15 shirt? Looked handy.

Michael Sykes. He's certainly a big unit.

TBH, the result is about what I would have expected.

Well done to Skolars for an improved season anyway....that's what they need a slow build and don't spend money they haven't got.

yes i think it was a game too far tbh. donny are a good side and good luck to them but i do think we made them look good. lots of missed tackles and ordinary attack and uncharacteristic bad kicking. i do think the ref let donny lay on badly and that really slowed our attack.

however i think 8 wins is good from a good season. shame we couldnt just nudge on that one win further

Yeah absolutely. My other half's observation was that Donny looked physically bigger and stronger.

So pleased that Joe seems to be making a difference...though he was a bit unlucky at Broncos.
