| DOB: 11th February 2006. Witnessed by 8,213 fans......deceased September 10th 2011. Witnessed by 3,546 fans. Both games saw us score 16 points against St Helens and both times, it wasn't enough to get the win.
163 games played as Harlequins Rugby League. 56 won, 5 Draws and 102 losses. 34% win ratio......
3,229 points for, 4,704 against (-1,475). 117 competition points and an average finishing position of 10th. Highest place finish was 7th in 2005, the lowest 2011 and 13th.
Biggest Attendance (excluding the blatantly incorrect Double Header from 2006) was 8,213 on day 1....the lowest attendance was 1,766 this year for the visit of the Welsh.
In total, over 284,000 people watched 79 Harlequins RL home games at TW2, an average of 3,594 per game.
Put into perspective, the previous 6 years as the Broncos had 168 games, with 66 wins (39%) and an average finishing position of 8th........and the average attendance was.....3,564.
So, now we will have another name..........London RL (aka The Broncos) and another chance to attract a new following.....let's hope they club get it right. Either way, I suspect it will be a bumpy ride and enojoyable and frustrating in equal measure.
We're Quins RL......!

MOAN MOAN MOAN.
I didn't think the club were allowed to be involved in testimonial activities.
Which is irrelevant anyway as it was available from the nice lady at the stall in the Kings bar.

Very interesting, someone in the club shop could have told me that, my point entirely!

| Thats like complaining to a bus driver that your train was late.
RR has told you where the books were. The shop assistant probably didnt know the price of a burger at the burger van- Its a rugby ground not a complaint centre- theyre based in India

Even Mrs from Erith joined in with that one! Drew the line at the 'Shoes off for the Harlequins' mind!
So the Harlequins flag of convenience is no more, time to look forward to 2012 with new players and a new (or maybe an old?) name. Buckle up folks we coud be in for a bumpy ride!!

| First game against St Helens as Harlequins looked like we were going places, now we have a team in place for 2012 that will put the bad memories of Quins RL to bed, but there were some good times on the pitch, saying that the no more minutes put a smile on everyones faces.
RIP Harlequins Rugby League

| Will any fans come back as a result of the change? As far as I can see the average has been the same pretty much since 96 and 97 when London had a very good team.
They need to get back to a 5k average IMO. Preferably in a smaller stadium which might add some atmosphere.
More than anything I would love to see some real marketing going on.
Market a game against Wigan/Leeds as the 'big one' of the season and have cheaper tickets... sell tickets in bulk to local businesses and schools etc.
We also do a scrum ticket which allows you to invite 6 people for £5. Imagine how easy it would be to invite people to games if they only had to pay a fiver!
Giving away tickets in a newspaper just doesn't cut it.

I don't think anyone ever said that fans will come back purely due to the change! it all has to be part of a re branding and marketing package.
A smaller stadium may work, but where? that is the million dollar question. Salford next seasom get a nice stadium due to the council and Peel Holdings, do we anything similar in London, but then Salford had some estate to sell in The Willows to at least contribute to the cost, how could we raise that type of money, so we could make it a community stadium, take up the Widnes idea if their new pitch works? and let local schools use it. Salford did some marketing last week to get 10,000!
Have a look at the Salford promo video for the new ground.

The free tickets idea has bombed out, there were so many tickets in St Helens last weekend people who had received them and then were not using them? that was not the original idea, every visiting team has latched on to the freebie tickets.
What are Wigan doing right? they market so well, I said previously someone should spend a month from our marketing department with them. The Big Match idea and package has really worked for them, targeting ideas such as youth teams in a special knock out, which then attracts parents etc on the day at special price tickets, they run TV commercials just for a few games a season that they know they can push up the crowd, and run a good poster campaign 19,100 last weekend for Crusaders, they are doing something right. Do we target such games as Wigan, Warrington, sell them as last years Champions or cup winners, see the best of Super League.
It is finding a community that really wants us! and also with good transport connections, that we can get involved in and in return the community will come part of us, then with success we will bring in with good transport links the rugby fans who would like to see what it is all about. I still Believe it can work.

Indeed, and having pots of money to sell their club. I get sick and tired of reading about the marketing geniuses at Wigan. They have an absolutely massive budget and selling Rugby League in Wigan must be the easiest job in the world.

No argument about that, but just look back on the attendances over the Super League period with Wigan and now last weekend they can attract 19,100, why have St Helens not increased in the same way? in fact perhaps they have even been more successful, I would put it down to Total Lack of Marketing. When they appointed their current Chief Executive from Gillette who had worked on the account with the RFL, I thought Wow! and what did they produce in 2010 11,190 compared to Wigan 15,723. This season Saints could not get more than 7,000 to travel 3 miles down the road to Widnes! yes I accept it was bad timing the selling of Knowsley Road and the new stadium being ready in December this year, but I think it knocks the idea of "rocket science" being simply success, history and culture only! 2002, the average attendance at Wigan was 14,000 this season 16,125, nothing like the attendances at Central Park in the glory days.
Average attendances this past season out of interest.
Pos. Team Att.
1 Wigan Warriors 16,125
2 Leeds Rhinos 15,099
3 Bradford Bulls 13,967
4 Hull FC 12,431
5 Warrington Wolves 11,166
6 Catalans Dragons 8,385
7 Hull Kingston Rovers 8,320
8 St. Helens 7,863
9 Castleford Tigers 7,156
10 Huddersfield Giants 7,091
11 Wakefield Wildcats 6,552
11 Salford City Reds 4,754
13 Crusaders 3,377
14 Harlequins 3,132
Dave may think it is easy in Wigan it is not a massive town and they have a Premiership Club playing at the same stadium, Leeds is a City and a lot larger population.
Wigan Dave have never rested on their laurels, some may think why spend money when you have their success, but you have to if you are going to compete with other sports and see year on year atttrendance increases which they want.

Lobbygobbler 1 has said at least 6 people he knows have stayed away because of the Union tie in, so add those to Rupe1 and stormingbronco and there will be a whole 8 more fans
Seriously, the fans base has been pretty static since 1996...........it did drop (again) last year, but only a bit and let's face it, the team for the last 2 and half years have been rubbish.
The whole point of the re-re-re-launch and re-re-re-re-re-branding is to attempt to get new momentum for a marketing push. Problem is, whilst most Media outlets along the M62 have a dedicated RL body, us cockernees are left with the junior media guy who deals with "other sports" like curling, speedway and darts.

Some fans have been picked up since the move. Hopefully some fans will return.
Big problem for London RLFC is that (unlike Wigan) it is in an area which is not at all supportive of RL
