| Quietly optimistic for 2012
Although even if Temata resigns I feel we are still a prop light, apart from that I think we are well covered with quality in all other areas

| Its not complete and they are still talking to another prop in Aus who is with one of the teams in the finals. A good squad though and I am quietly optimistic about our chances although would have like another centre.

maybe Brent Kite or Jason King. Would be a massive signing and maybe either could be a good chance considering the Quins have 2 other Manly players joining.

Well, I'm just reporting what the club site says: Quote Julien Rinaldi will return to Harlequins Rugby League from Wakefield Wildcats while Antonio Kaufusi, who joins from Newcastle Knights =#FF0000completes the new signings for next year.'" I suppose it may mean "completes the signings so far". We live in hope.

| I hope so!
Do Aussie props go well in SL? The Wigan prop who cannon balls people this year has gone well but others seem to struggle with the type of game we play over here (Very general statement I will accept)
There game is a lot tighter, up the middle, build pressure in Aus where as ours is a little more attacking. Plus we are moving to 10 changes next year. More time on the field possibly

| Matt Cook could play in the centres at a push and if Big Karl re-signs this will give us a third experienced Prop with Olsi and Rob Thomas for the other spot.

| I really like the look of the squad for next year, but in typical Quins fashion i'm half expecting one of the new Aussies to get homesick and move back before the season starts, one of them to be 38 instead of 28 and someone else to break a leg in pre season training.

| DH announced at the forum there was another Aussie prop to come over but he was still playing in his current clubs finals. He seemed very happy when he said that and the look between him and Powell would suggest it is a big name they are happy both very happy with

| No Gooner not Dave Hughes LOL just have some good mail. The prop in question is not a huge name but I still think he will go well over here and he is still playing in the finals now after the first weeks round. Hopefully we can keep Karl as well as I do think we a bit skinny in regards to depth for front row but very impressed with the main ones that we have. As I said centre is a bit of a short of depth as well and there is a push for Clubb to play in the backrow off the bench. Wont be suprised to see Sargy in the centres although long term think he will be playing loose forward.
Looking forward to 2012 and with such big and critical changes to the squad I think it will be opposite to this year with a slow start to the year then a stronger finish.

| As its been hinted that's we are in with a shout of another prop from Aus,but hes still involved in their play off.
Then from what i can see these are the only ones off contract at the end of season whose teams are still in play offs. And they are: Matt Cross,Jason King, Brent Kite, Dane Carlaw and Sione Kite.
It was hinted that he wasnt as well know, but would go well over here. so i go for Matt Cross or Sione Kite. simple reason is have heard of the others.. .
Personally would love Jason King or Brent Kite.
Unless of course its a player whos still in contract with his club for 2012 and got a early release..

Jason King seems to be in the NSW thinking, so I wouldn't imagine he would leave Aus, but will be 31 in March and the way we trade off against the relatively weak pound and the cost of London living is a three year contract so who knows.
Brent Kite has apparently been offered a deal, but has not signed, and that we have been talking to Kite and people about him for half the season, while Georgie Rose has signed a two year deal there.
So Kite has either signed for Manly and used us, or not got what he wanted and is on his way here for 2012.

| Rumour has it that Quins(as was..) are about to offer Armstrong a contract. Centre who can play wing. Did well last Saturday down at your place, scoring 3 tries.

| That would be good, but from what our owner said on the Radio last night, I doubt it.
Still, you never know. We certainly look short in the centres.

| I may have this wrong. but from the way DH was talking, he made it sound like we were after another forward and he didnt sound to convinced that this would come off now. so perhaps since that interview something has happened and the coaching staff and DH have changed tack and gone for Armstrong (alleged rumour) and maybe then look for a cheaper prop to bring in from this country to add to the squad.
You could think that they have decide to move Clubb to forwards (which i doubt) and thats why maybe gone for Armstrong after seeing him perform at the weekend..
Rumours are also on the Bulls forum that Andy Lynch wants away from there.. I know hes 32,but would he be worth a punt for year and have him work with the junior setup too.

| I know I've said this before but I'd play Clubb at prop. He still can't read attacking players in front of him out wide, and moving him one in to 2nd Row won't change that because he'll still be faced with options and have to make quick decisions. Stick him in the middle where he won't have to do that and just tell him "if it moves, hit it". With his size and strength he'd cope with the physical demands of playing at prop, and his pace will give him something few other props have.
Lots of other players have done it. Gary Mercer went from winger to 2nd Row to prop, and did so very successfully. I think it would be the making of Clubby.

I think you're right. Still remember that try he scored at Edinburgh, just forcing his way, nearly-shirtless, through a bunch of opposing players - typical prop's try.

Well Clubby got the ironman award, but in the second-row he always comes off like he has run himself into the ground so maybe loosen the reigns in the gym and let him be the size he wants to be and be a monster in the front row for 20 minutes at a time and do what Louie used to do for London.
