| Not having his contract renewed by us at the end of the season. Certainly devided the opinion of the fans. According to our local reporter on twitter (who is very reliable) he reckons Herbert could be on his way to you guys next year.
He's not an attacking, running, fast half back. Some fans though he was too pedestrian. He certainly struggled at the beginning of the year, but has improved a lot as the seasons gone on. His kicking games a lot better and he has got 18 try assists for us this year and some fans are disappointed hes going as they believe he could kick on next year and that we're losing a creative player (18 try assists speaks for itself). One of his main strengths though is his defence. Sometimes gets caught out of position, but he doesn't bounce off tackles. Tackles low around the ankles, very solid defender.
Do you guys think he's be a good signing for you?

| Is it a straight swap for Gale?-I think he played against us at the Stoop.
Is he the one with the Simon Le Bon hair cut?

Remember Herbert making his debut for the Raiders and they said that Herbert was just like Mark McLinden, both with the hair and the style of play. McLinden may have changed his haircut, but unfortunately Herbert stopped being compared with McLinden for his onfield plays. Seemed to be able to run back then, but now seems a fairly slow and large scrum-half. Seems to have good try-assists but the SL is about ducking, diving and darting as much as it should be about organising, building pressure and sticking to structures. Herbert is an old-fashioned Aussie half, whereas we seem to want our halves to be individuals who spark, rather than someone who is a solid reliable half.

| McLinden! Man, I'd forgotten about him....oh to have the team of Leuluai, Dorn and McLinden again... We do tend to have missed out of a "spark" player for the last few seasons....admittedly, Dorn can do special things, but teams always knew to shut him down in attack and we'd be blunter than a brick.
Any, Marc Herbert....not really seen him play much...how long has he been with the Bulls? Is it coincidently the same amount of time they've slipped dramatically from the heights of the league??

I'd prefer someone solid and relaible myself that a Sammut type. One of the clear failings in the team over the last few years has been a kicking game which is erratic at best, diabolical at worst. I would much rather see a bloke in the team whose short kicking didn't always bemuse his fellow players and bounce over the dead ball line and whose long kicking actually hit terra firma and forced our opponents to run the ball out from their own line.
It always strikes me that Australian halves usually view kicking as their primary role in a team, whereas British halves (bar Danny Brough) see it as an optional extra. I never understood that.

Since the start of this season. He was signed on a 1 year deal. Started of slowly, but been one of our better players of late. I'm quite dissapointed he is leaving.

| A visit to the Bulls board would confirm that the majority of fans would not be broken hearted if he left. Bulls took Gale off our hands as a possible replacement, so why would Quins be interested in signing the player that the Bulls management thought was worse than Gale?..........makes no sense to me.

100% agree. From what I have seen and read he is no more that mediocre.
If we are to sign 'OUTSTANDING' half backs I could see him as back up only.
How old is he?

Doesn't fit with the master plan as he's to young.

| I think he is complete sh*te and would be gutted if we signed him. One of the worst halves in SL.

| Barely seen him. But if the Bulls management think Gale's worth signing, I wouldn't trust their judgement on Marc Herbert.

| Well Herbert's got a decent kicking game and isn't a bad defender. Er that's it.
