As always a pleasure to go down the stoop. Looked more than 3,800(not sure of the correct figure) sat in the LV for a change good view, plenty of passion. Shame the bar wasnt open under that stand. Maybe they could moved the beer truck to that side rather than walking all the way around to the kings bar.

I read that some Wigan supporters were complaining about the service in the Kings Bar, and after yesterday, I have to agree. I went down 5 minutes before half time, and I only just got out for the second half, even though it was only 2 deep at the bar. There only seemed to be about 6 staff covering the whole thing.

Completely agree on the comments to do with the bar service. It is unusual to see more than three of the staff facing outwards towards customers even when it is 90 minutes before kick-off. The rest seem to faff about. Given that they do not serve food or refreshments and only serve warm beer out of a plastic cup, I am not sure what they are even pretending to do. They do not hurry at all. It as if they are all from a different culture.

I had a row with the "Manageress" and walked away during the Hull KR game. I now drink in town before the game and join the orderly queue at the truck rather than use the Kings bar.

Basically the bar staff appear to be assigned tills, they are only allowed to use the assigned till, hence there is a log jam. What is wrong with them being given fobs that can be used at any till. If they can't trust them, don't employ them.

On the day I had my row, despite four staff being available to serve me, they couldn't whilst she was assigning the till to ONE of them.

Are you talking about the tall one?

The bar seems to have plenty of staff it is simply badly run.

I dont know if Im mis-reading that but it comes across as racist to me, which is seriously not cool Mark. Especially from an RL fan.

I find the bar staff professional and friendly, the only way you could improve the speed of service is to pre-poor pints before the game and before half-time. No bar can cope with 500 people trying to get served in 10 minutes!! RL half times a too short. It would be good if they got those guys walking around with beer machines on their back again.

maybe some rope barriers, i get fed up of being at that bar and being ignored for someone who turns up and gets served straight away, possibly a quick queue for people only wanting one drink too.

That's also an inevitable consequence of a very busy bar. If you want all bars to have orderly queues and barriers then fair enough, but it's not my preference.

I wouldnt dare suggest you bring your own beers in a rucksack and poor them at your seat or in the bogs. That would be wrong.

The "Manageress" was the tall girl, I guess she is the Kings Bar manager. There is always a suited bloke who comes out of the corporate areas empties the tills and buggers off again, oblivious to the shambles around him.

The sloppy service happens even when the bar is relatively quiet. It is down to management not the individuals who in the main try to please.

This is one area where the landlords are having one over on us. Gus should arrange a mystery shopper.

The problem with the staff is that they are casuals....with little or no training and even less enthusiasm to do a "good job".
