How many forward passes did he and the touch judges miss?

One was at least 5m forward. Still he didn't influence the result.

Not saying Thaler influenced the result the team did that by not turning up. But some bad decisions with missed forward passes. Especially in the second half but there where others and wondering how many were forward?

I find it amusing Thaler gets paid money to referee.

Might use this as a quote.

He is the without doubt the worse referee I've seen in the last 20 years.

Was that really the first time Thaler has reffed HKA for over 2 years?


That was so bad it was funny. I have never seen a forward pass as blatant as that allowed to go. A player spun around in releasing the ball, sent it about twenty yards sideways and five yards forward, way ahead of the rest of his line, it bounced further forwards after landing, then was picked up just inside the touchline and all three officials were completely oblivious to it.

I totaly agree with what Morgan said and it's about time the RFL learnt respect has to be earned and is not a right of passage. I do not want to see RL go down the lines of the football players abusing refs, I want to stick with the rugby code of conduct but respect is a two way thing. Thaler and the RFL need to learn about repesct to players and fans and it wouldn't be a bad idea if Thaler learnt the rules of the game. Maybe if he had respect for people and the game he would earn respect back.

He did not influence the match result at all London, did that all on their own by being very poor, however he did miss a load of high tackles, forward passes and two very clear knock ons, one by each team as I say none of it would change the result of the game but it does add to player and fan frustration. I have no respect for a referee who is as poor as Thaler and I know there are a number of fans from all teams who could do a much better job than him and HE IS PAID AS A PROFESSIONAL.

The Hull KR try just before half time came off a pass that was a mile forward.

Touch Judges need to earn their corn as well.

Referees are human and can miss things, but the touch judge inline with play can have no excuses. e.g. blatant offsides, going back to the Wakefield game. We were on the edge but Wakefield were blatantly offside everytime. The referee only seemed to be talking to the Quins line.

What really amazes me is that the TJs are generally up with the play and in the best position, yet still ignore clear forward passes. I'm not having a dig at people who choose to do a thankless task (I know there are people on here who do it at amateur level), I'm just baffled and bemused that they don't see or don't intervene..

The forward pass that was blatant even the Hull players stopped then realised ref/linesman hadn't bothered to see it! How the linesman didn't see it as he was stood there is beyond me....
