The clubs training session this Saturday is open to supporters - just posted by the club via facebook.

For those not on facebook times are 11.30 - 1.00pm at Roehampton, parking available but limited is the advice given

When I read the headline I thought it was for people who wanted to try out for the first team.

I must admit, those were my first thoughts when I read the FB post !!! It's now up on the club site too

Whilst I applaud the regular communications from the club on FB, Twitter and in the ezine...I do wonder about what benefit is being gleaned from this? Preaching to the converted is one of the reasons that UK churches are emptying out.....there aren't enough missionaries out there selling the deal (so to speak).
Still.....at least the lines of communication seem to be getting better between the club and its fans

I'm sorry, I'm not having this. I'm as much of a critic about the club's lack of external marketing as anyone but to criticise them for communicating with current fans? Pathetic.

Agree, this IS something for the existing fans and not new fans.

The ground is on the A3

From the south, continue to the Robin Hood island where you take the left hand lane and continue on the A3. Take the first exit and follow signs to Guildford and Portsmouth which will take you back onto the A3 heading south. The ground is shortly on the left. There is a tall mobile phone mast in the corner of the car park.

From the north, continue to the Stag Lane junction. The ground is then on the left after a few hundred yards. Look for the mobile phone mast in the corner of the car park.

I am all for this....but let's face it, anyone reckon that it will do anything other than give a few die hard fans a chance to watch the guys training?

People should consider going. It's at this time of year when the pre-season flogging takes place. Though if they're inviting people they may be doing more ball work for show.

I think some will find it an eye opener. You can see what gets put into being a professional RL player. It'll shown some what effort is given by people for the shirt they play even before a game even happens.

I have to say i was quite impressed with Jack Latus - He was on our right wing and had a lot of pace and was very difficult to put down.

Nick the Greek looked pretty good as well.

The team put quite a few fluid moves together and looked like a team that was gelling.

before anyone starts reminding me that it was only a training session against our fringe players- I'm fully aware of that but it was nice to see rugby being played again

Latus is obviously fit again then. Hopefully he has impressed enough to get a contract now as we need a speedy winger. Has to be better than Melling as a winger.

We seemed to run much deeper attacking lines than we have in the last couple of years which seems encouraging.

Was Big Karl there?
