| [url=http://viewtopic.php?f=2&t=467808BRADFORD[/url are having a go at reversing the trend and there are a target group of 1,000,000 people in London. Worth a punt with say a target figure of 5,000.
£450,000 in ticket sales this year.....would the £300,000 with the extra residual income (beer/shirts etc) and walk up fans be worth a punt? Mind you...it would need a decent ad spend/PR campaign to get it going.

| In an answer....yes...would be a good move...as I'm sure they'd not lose any money in the long run.
However, as you say a decent PR campaign would be needed....and I can see that happening 3 days before the 2011 season kicks off!

| good plan but need to get in early, get a good social media campaign behind it and really drive it
if they can get 4000 for 2011 signing up for say £90 that would be a good start
still think they need to leave the stoop and move to east london

| There have been a lot of postings on this initiative on the Bradford and other message boards.......if Quins were to adopt a similar approach then surely that would mean that all bets were off for existing ST holders, season ticket prices would need to be the same for all and all seats would have to become unallocated. One Bradford poster is suggesting that if buying season tickets as a family, say 2 x adults + 2 children, then the cost per person becomes even less and the savings against existing ST prices are truly significant.........whether or not it is good for the clubs financial position will be totally dependent on the numbers that take up the offer.
If the above were to happen then this opens up the whole debate again regarding allocated/unallocated seats/segregation between fans etc..................and if you like the old chesnut about which stand/s supporters are in. On the latter, ignore the sun in your eyes etc comments, but IMO a well filled LV stand makes for a better match day atmosphere and if the away fans want to set up camp on the halfway line in the other stand then fine.............there is no denying that the whole game day experience has lost something for both home and away supporters under current seating arrangements.

| It depends on how the message is spread - it won't be enough to update the existing fan base I wouldn't think, so you're then back to the London wide media cost (Metro or whatever).
It wouldn't have to be a fixed price, a refund of x amount on the bought tickets - e.g. £100 off the Gold ticket, £75 off the next, £50 off the unallocated etc. May not have the same impact, but more manageable.

| All rugby league clubs need to look at ticket prices and more so season tickets, when you look at the drop in attendances at Bradford they need to stop the rot urgently. Saints fans always shout about their 11,000 average, but take away the fans that come from Wigan and Warrington for those derby games and the Leeds game they would also be down to figures well under 10,000
Union with the Premiership do seem to have got their house in order much better than RL, but then I have seen some great marketing which RL seem to be against? I still say our Bronco days we produced some good printed marketing.

| If you attack the football clubs and try and market it against the casual footy fan then you may get a few more bodies on board. Many fans are finding it tough to see their respective club and the appeal of a cheap ticket to see a sport that is entertaining and not as costly could be a massive pull.
Worth a punt, surely?

| Do The Harlequins actually do any marketing ?Not having a pop I assure you,but I always come down for the London games, and will be at Wembley on Saturday. We usually stay around the Harrow area in a hotel.Although its not a million miles away, never see any promotional bumph regarding upcoming games etc.
Have they tried advertising on the tube, busses, etc, as lets face it a lot of prospective fans will be using public transport to attend games.
In the Hull area the games are always advertised on the local radio stations and local press, even though both clubs have a very healthy fan base.
Think the Bradford pass promotion is an excellent initiative, and if fully subscribed will cost them nothing.Unfortunately the main drawback of having a loyal and healthy fanbase,is sometimes you get the feeling they treat you as a CASH COW,which is what frequently happens at FC.
For what it's worth I think your club is eventually showing signs of reaping some benefits from the Growth of RL in the area as regards home grown talent,I sincerely hope everything works out ,as I love the trips to the Smoke, even though we usually lose.
Good Luck

In Hull...there are 3 sporting teams in the top division......In London there are many premiership/championship teams, Guinness Premiership teams etc etc.....Radio station in Hull wants to be associated with one of the big 3 teams....London radio station wants to be asociated with Chelsea. I would also bet that IF the hull teams are paying for the radio coverage they are paying a fraction of what Capital Radio would charge quins.

| I understand what your getting at,apathy is a hard habit to break.
Do the club ever place posters in local businesses such as pubs, hotels, shops etc.or a leaflet campaign ,simple ideas I know, but could be effective. In the Hull area there is also the free local paper, the advertising rates are usually reasonable. As I said previously I have not missed an away game at the Bronco's,Quins etc and have seen them at The Stoop,Then Charlton ,Brentford,on the Road at Leicester and eventually back to the Stoop,my favourite by the way.
I imagine how frustrated your fans must be when your crowds are ebbing and your location is probably THE Largest catchment area available. This could be a Result of Rugby League's consistent inability to market itself correctly, the governing body is seen as something of a joke.Which other sport allows a team to PICK it opponents in a semi-final,or organises an opening day extravaganza in the middle of WINTER and two montha after Christmas !!! Lunacy.
Until a more profesional approach is taken ,I can see the majority of crowds starting to fall off.Not just yours .
