FRANCIS Meli and Matt Gidley have both been named in the 19-man squad to face Harlequins RL this weekend.



They return for the Carnegie Challenge Cup Fifth Round tie following their recovery from hamstring and achilles injuries respectively.



Dual registered Jake Emmitt has also been named whilst there is a call up for Jonny Lomax.

Saints do this to us all the time claim squad full of injuries and come game time up pops a near full squad.



I dont know much about the Saints squad and i sure a Saints fan will put me right,but the two they have brought in to the 19 are a forward and a back so maybe there are doubts over Gidley and a forward (hopefully Puletua who did go of injuried againt HullKR.)

I like to stick with Karl T in the second row with either Purds or Williamson,as felt he had a blinder from there against Hull and offered alot with his off loads.

I also have stuck with same bench as Hull game as think we need to start sending out the same squads. Just feel might be to big a game to send Luke May in for what would be i think is his first game of the season.

Gids probably could have played at Murrayfield but MP decided not to risk it and leave him for this cup game which is far more important.

We're a few players off a full squad and both Gids and Meli have had injuries of the niggling variety (achilles for Gids, hamstring for Meli), so I would think their presence on the pitch won't be known about until the very last minute.

Puzzling - no Penny so you would think that we would have one pair of yellow boots on the pitch!

With him as Ref for this game,thats a good four or five penalties to Saints before we have even kicked off.

A few years back he was seen as the next top ref. In more recent times he seems to have gone backwards. For me he plays up to the crowd to much. If you watch him he always exaggerates his decision hand signals for the sake of the crowd.
