I doubt this match is going to adversely impact on our day whatever. The crowds for these type of matches are generally quite low.

It is also on most other clubs web sites

But apart from Cru v Bulls no other SL club are playing on that date. Do accept though that it's probably a sponsor requirement rather than a QRL decision.

Yes but should not QRL be promoting their own event! From somebody who is outside it appears the club is bouncing from one side to another and presenting a message that it does not know what it is doing? Even if it was a RLF or sponsor decision, there should be nothing stopping Quins marketing their own event on the same day. Surely common sense would suggest putting out some form of message about the 30 years and piggy back on the promotion. A message could have said something like “be part of our celebrations chance to see the national team – on the same day we are .................3 games at the Stoop.....”

Not much point promoting a game that far off now is there? They have recieved their instructions from the RFL and are following them. Simples.

It is never to early to market your product. The more publicity the better.

If the Leeds game was a one off event no but at least make everybody aware of the 30 year triple header before holidays get booked. Just consider this statement, England game promoted for June 12 what is the headline? England and France tickets.

The Leeds game is a unique event and needs planning with a clear marketing strategy. See my earlier post and piggy backing promotional activities. Given the chaos over ticket prices for the the Saints game this needs consideration and promotion now not a couple of weeks before the event other wise we could have a three colour coded ticket stump or worse still unexpected ticket prices.

The Club, IMO that is, should be releasing small amounts of info on a fortnightly basis for the 30 yrs game. Nothing spectacular......just little things like the name of an ex-player who will be there......or names of the local clubs playing in the warm up.
as for the England promotion.......there have been times in the past when the cub have announced 4 things in 1 day and the first one announced just drops off the front page.

Was very surprised to see at Bank staion and then Waterloo Today flyers being given out for the saracens v Quins game at Wembley. Now what would it cost for Quins rl to do this on a regular basis even offer added incintives got to be worth a try.

It's not cheap.....and Bank station has more chance of getting a Union fan than a a league fan walking through it. I am not sre, but I think I may have mentioned something about a station nearer to the stoop in the past

Correct You have but got to be worth a try. Especially waterloo, something like 300,000 plus People every night heading west and south.

The Club monitor the boards......but it really comes down to resources. I suspect that neither the money of the time is available to sort this sort of thing out. I know the volunteers used to do letterbox drops around Griffin Park back in the day, but I am not aware of the volunteer group still being around. If they are, then that would seem like the way to go......email the group and see who would be available to hand out leaflets. There is a cost associated with it though as the council do charge a licence fee (litter costs etc...) IIRC.

If I was the club I wouldn't bother with leaflets in all honesty, unless they contained a leaflet specific offer.

agreed. Hard to judge the impact of any form of marketing, but if the club are strapped for cash, leaflets distributed by volunteers would seem to be a cheap way of getting the message out.
BTW.....was there a ticket offer inside the oystercard holders that were distibuted? Not another pop, just a genuine question.

We need something with some form of response mechanism, as like you say, the club are skint, so any spending needs to be justified. A general leaflet saying that this game is on XX/XX/XX will be a waste of time. Put a code on the leaflet to use on the website for a ticketing discount, attatch a voucher for a free beer at the game, something, anything.
