Somewhat ironic but I think a referee thread is needed. He didn't bother with offside for 75 minutes and then penalised us for not being square and finished us off. Missed a blatant knock on too. But the most annoying decison for me was when one of our idiotic players fumbled in our own half when the entire Salford team was offside - I prefered it how it used to be, the players are offside, the referee blows his whistle, screw any advantage, who cares.

There must have been some laying on in the tackle to complain about too.

We threw the match away. We didn't defend the left wing and Salford exploited it. We dominated the first half and gave up in the second.

5 penalties all game. Unbeliveable.

Most of these seemed to come fairly late in the proceedings. For most of the game Thaler seemed totally oblivious to any sort of infringements by either side. There was a particularly blatant foul by a Salford player pushing one of our players to the ball as he attempted to play the ball on the fifth tackle on their thirty metres line quite early in the game. It was a really brainless foul and very obvious, yet Thaler ignored it.

Think it was a certain Jeremy Smith, the first of 3 that I saw, the second was a forearm on the kicker( Danny Orr ) at 38 minutes which Smith has been charged for, and the 3rd was the one that led to his binning

Clubby gave one for not being straight at the marker in the second half when he made a tackle. We also gave one for being offside whilst they were an inch of our line! That I couldn't understand.

A clear false start by one of our players, who didn't seem to retreat.

I thought in general Thaler let the game flow. 5 penalties in a games is unheard off. Both sides appeared to encroach on the 10 time and time again. Perversely I quite enjoyed the game, sadly not the result.
We talk about players going backwards can the same be said for Thaler. Not so long ago he was knocking on the door for the big games but now seems to be the forgotten man.
