Ok,maybe a bit off topic and I know London's a big old village but please feel free to ridicule me.
We're staying at the Travelodge at Kew for our game with you,we've been to Brentford a few times,so i've a few questions.
1.Can we get direct transport,trains/tube to Richmond?
2.Are there any pubs/bars near our hotel?
3.Is there an Indian close by?
All recomendations duly accepted,if by any small chance i've upset anyone on the forums if you see a big fat guy with strawberry blonde hair wearing last years home shirt,please feel free to introduce yourselves!

The beehive has the old bill station next door and is still rough.

Would have answered this earlier if i had spotted it. It's been 15 years since I lived in South Ealing, so my recommendations might be a bit out of date. Hopefully someone with more recent knowledge will correct me if I'm wrong about a place.

The area near the hotel is isolated by being cut off between the river and the M4, so it has been a bit neglected. Close by the hotel is O'Riordan's, which used to be a very good pub in my day, and the Fat Boys Thai restaurant, which is good and not too dear by local standards. If you feel up to walking to the pubs by Griffin Park, there was an Indian on South Ealing Road before the ground (right at McDs), but I've never eaten there. 10 minutes further up South Ealing Road, the other side of the M4, is Monty's Tandoori, which is popular. Might be worth ringing ahead. I've never had a night out in Brentford proper, as someone suggested, it's not the greatest, but as a general tip, Fullers pubs tend to be better looked after than average, and some serve food, which will be cheaper than a restaurant.

If you fancy a more up-market night out, you can get the 65 bus from right outside the hotel to Richmond (10-15 minutes, depending on traffic over the bridge and across the A316. However, as buses cost £2 a head each journey, you'd be as well getting a cab if there are a few of you. Richmond isn't thick with Indian restaurants. There's a good but pricey one called Origin Asia on Kew Road on the way in, just past the London Welsh ground. Alternatively, there is one in Hill Rise by Richmond Bridge or one in Red Lion Street, but I don't know the names or have eaten in either. I would recommend Richmond if you've not been before and especially if you have ladeez with you. You can wander between the pubs on the Green and the alleys leading up to George Street (where Smiths, Tesco, HMV banks etc are) or have a drink by the river at the White Cross.
