Roll call - who's going?

I quite fancy it I must say, and am trying to persuade that phantom lurker LondonBroncosFan to join me.

Lunch in a pub in Barnes somewhere, maybe catch the last twenty minutes of the union if I'm feeling generous, then a first glance at some of the new players. Hopefully Andy Ellis will be playing as I'd quite like to get a good look at him.

10 minutes walk for me, can't miss it. I'll get there early to cheer whoever's playing Rosslyn Park.

Rosslyn Park are playing Richmond. They have a reputation of being a very snooty club. I have been to watch them a couple of times, and basically, if you didn't go to the right school then God help you.

I played cricket with a couple of lads who played union for them. They were alright themselves, but I did get that impression. They went to Oratory, Whitgift, Donhead, places like that. Presumably they let oiks from grammar schools in as well.

Think i'll be going, need some rugby after this christmas period.

Im going-looking forward to seeing what Nobby has mustered up in Wrexham.

Isn't there a knockabout at the training ground next Sun-1st v Under 20's or similar- we need to win that one!

If you don't know the area, you should be aware that there is nothing around Barnes Station except the rugby ground. Barnes proper is about 15 minutes walk away. If you want to eat and drink before the game you would be better to get off at Barnes Bridge, or at Mortlake for something in Sheen, then walk back.

East sheen loads of pubs quick bus journey to ground. Simples

Does anybody know if they will be selling tickets for the match or the Shirt at the Fans Forum on the 13th.?
If not best I sort myself out to purchase them monday.

Getting seriously concerened about the game going ahead now.This deep freeze/snowfall is scheduled to continue well into next week.I,d hate to think that JW would end up losing money if this happens....

I think it will be difficult for the game to go ahead unless there is a big change in the weather. Rosslyn Park only just got their game with Barnes on last Saturday by driving a load of cars onto the pitch and leaving their engines running to try and use that heat to thaw the pitch out...

It should be OK. The latest Met Office forecast is for 72 hours consecutively above freezing before the game.

Rosslyn Park snooty? They've never been snooty when I've been to see them play.
How can a club with a coach from rural South West France be snooty?

Many Rosslyn Park players are ex London Welsh players who didn't want to go fully pro. They are an extremely tidy and friendly bunch of guys. One of them, centre Alex Cadwallader, played for the London Broncos youth/U18 team.

As for pub/grub, stick around Richmond/East Sheen and get the buses up Rocks Lane. However, it's a busy road, so set off in good time.

Last season, Rosslyn Park had Deuchars IPA on in the bar.

I have checked and if you pay on the gate before half-time in the Union game the RU lot get the gate money, but if you arrive after half-time at the RU game the money goes to the Jon Wells Testimonial fund!
