Have to disagree. Tommy was always prepared to take the defense on and thus is more unpredictable. Teams know that Danny is always looking to pass so they tend to move up and not rush in as they know what he will do.

Tommy is still unpredictable at Wigan. Interesting point about Danny Orr made by a few people. Thinking about it when we go from left to right alot defences compress towards the middle after one goes out towards Orr. This compacted defence protects against the kick but has also been great benefit to the likes of Tony Clubb and earlier Matt Gafa as teams don't seem to rate Danny Orr's kicking game (some fans here would say rightly so).
One thing is for sure is that we will miss Danny Orr this weekend.

| Quote ="wire-quin"Not having a go at Cas as they are a traditional heartlands club but are they really what the future of RL is all about.
Forget tradition, forget history(why you ask), the future of RL is about clubs spread far and wide in modern stadiums with big crowds.
Has a smallish town in Yorkshire surrounded by other RL teams got that potential?
If you compare RL with football traditional teams have dropped divisions over time and the game has moved on. Big crowds, nice stadiums , plenty of sponsorship etc That is the blue print for success in the premier league
I really cant see the likes of Hudds, Cas, Wakey etc all being in the top league in the future. Maybe this time, but longer term, I'm not sure
We may disappear as well, who knows where the game will go.'"
That's dumb. Cas are a great club and offer loads to the game, so what if they're in a small town in Yorkshire? Their support spreads a long way further than the borders of the town anyway and there are plenty of smallish towns in top level soccerball. Blackburn's hardly a metropolis, neither's Portsmouth. A good club's a good club. And Cas is definitely one of them.

No we won't we'll see something between their vision for the future and an appeasement of the northern heartland's clubs feelings.

| Just a topic for discussion, but how much does th RFL and SL owe French Rugby League? I think there is both a duty and an advantage to help bring the French gane up to top class standard, but maybe that's fulfilled by Catalans. As such, I don't think that Toulouse should be in the mix on Tuesday.

There were calls from a number of people to "sign him on"
Don't know why they want him on job-seekers allowance, surely a "sign him up" would have been a better chant for a man who grabbed a hat-trick.

Yep. Not for what we are after. We don't need a support player. And running around Melling in the form he was in was no great feat. I could probably beat him after 10 pints and a kebab.

Melling's performance was woeful.
And the excuse of just coming back from injury, is no excuse.
Alot of the time, he is able to keep up with the attacking player.. But then his decision making skills lets him down.
He tries to push the person out, and really he should just tackle the man.
And some of the breaks Castleford made, they got to Melling, and ran straight round him, with almost no effort at all.
Woeful performance.
Glad Ricky's back for Bradford, we need him for Full back.

The ones that saw Mark today, was it just me, or is he starting to gain back his bulk again?
Before he looked so skinny, but now hes started building it back up?
or is it just me?

This just shows how extreme this is, I totally agree with tim791.
Melling put in one of the worst performances I have ever seen today.

I agree with Dave,
Melling should be dropped. And not played for a very long time.
I would say put him in the reserves, but that would do no good for our reserves.
The only plus out of today, was that are reserves won, even if Castleford's reserves are bottom of the table, and we're still 4th.
Final score for reserves is,
Harlequins RL 34 - 14 Castleford Tigers.

No - we thought the same. I'd still be inclined to give him the rest of the season off, though.
As for Melling, I can't help but think that he shouldn't have played at all - surely had he been fit he would have performed better.

I think we should see how he is at the end of the season.
Myself and my mum, talked to Melling before the game, during the reserves game, he said he was deffinity going to play in the first team game, and he said at first he thought to be out for longer, but he felt completely fine.
PS, did you see Melling's performances before he got injured?
You must not of if you think that
Dave will enlighten you when he gets back from, whereever he went. Pmsl.

Completely agree that Dorn is not the only answer.
BUT we do need better support players. When St Helens and Leeds and other top teams make a break support comes flooding through on both sides and more often than not it results in a try.
Time and time again when we make a clean break there is one player in support at best and they are quickly out numbered and swamped by defenders.
Two concrete examples yesterday. Once when Purdham made a break in the first and the only player up in support was Randall. Another time in the second half Heckenberg made a break and he had no one with him.
This isn't really a this year problem, it has been there for the last few years. 2005 was probably the last year I recall that our players pushed through and properly supported the player with the ball. And even then it wasn't consistent enough.
If there is one thing Luke does really well it is that he arrives in close support to finish off a move.
If we are relying on him for our main creative and play making options then we are stuffed.
