| Quote ="RLLDN"I believe quite a few Barnet fans wanted TK out also, a few years ago. Little did they know of his great vision of The Hive, despite dwindling numbers with Community astro turfs, gym facilities and medical imaging for the community also. '"
Barnet FC have considerable less fans that they did when AK took over, but the do have a nice new "boutique" stadium and surrounding facilities in which to generate enough funds to maintain the MID TABLE CONFERENCE status. Good for them, but I hardly define that as success.
Quote ="RLLDN"Things can change in Sports Business in the shortest of time periods. '"
Too right they can. The end of the season in 2010 saw us with a fully operational academy and youth production line, community coaches around the region, 40,000 local school kids being instructed in the game and 3,400 average fans in attendance with close to 1,000 season ticket holders and playing in a purpose built rugby stadium.....fast forward 37 months and you've got no youth, no community, 200 season ticket holders, playing in a ground that has a pitch that is too small for RL in front of the 2nd lowest gate EVER for a London SL game.....OUTSTANDING WORK
Quote ="RLLDN"Can't wait for London Broncos fortunes to change for the better now we are here.'"
London Broncos, if they go down this year, will not return to Super League for at least 20 years, if not longer, unless they are invited to do so when the RFL change their minds...again.
To gain promotion will take a minimum of 1,000,000 a year investment with little expectation of seeing that cash back, unless you can attract 50,000 fans to the hive paying a score each......2008 was the last time we broke 50k for a season...last year was 28k and Saturdays attendance was 40% down on 2013.
Filling the Hive is the only way to build the club.......let me know how well AK is doing that for Barnet FC?

| Community access to Astroturfs and gyms is hardly boutique. It enables locals to come and use the Hive and they may get interested in the sports that are offered at that place also.
Of course the youth programme was amazing. Some of the products from there were immense. Though from the verge of having no club at all, that was the hard sacrifice of all - to lose the Youth and all collateral is painful. But we are here and still have a chance of rebuilding. I will love to have that chance again, which have by surviving as a club.
Exactly re:no guarantee that one has the right of promotion from Championship. But hold on, we are not even there yet. Everyone thought we would finish bottom last season, and yet again on the last day of the season the boys pulled something out of the bag. Sport is not a proven science in terms of stats. Anything can happen, especially this year with a more intimate Stadium and this players more confident by the backing from the supporters,
TK has had difficulties because this is their first year at The Hive also. But boy has he done well to get International level teams to train there and get major sponsorship from a branch of Toshiba also.
Things are looking bright at this current location and to build roots here with a new academy is something to look forward to. Cannot wait!

| Gf where has the royal we come from? You speaking for all of us, I only mention it because you have had a go at others for using it before.
in reality the new system will actually favour the bottom 12 in the the new proposed syestem, have a think top 2 leagues of 12 bottom 4 top 4 into a play off league, bottom 12 top 4 are used to winning, top 12 bottom 4 are used to losing, actually it means that middle 8 league will orob be pretty tight.
Btw you will spot I have not used the hidden cursing, there is no need to use "loving" swearing is swearing however you disguise it

Michael, I use "we" as in those of us that support the team and that want a club that is strong and growing. Do you not fall into that category?
What I don't do is say "we the fans" as some half d attempt to suggest that you have to attend a match an applaud the players regardless of the result, or be amazed at how the club can deliver coffee for just 1.80 a cup to be a member of this "we".
This "we" can remember hardships and bad times from the previous versions of the club, but I doubt many of "us" can remember being witnesses to the total desolation and destruction of the club by just one bad administrator in such a short space of time!

the top 4 on the championship will not deliver a "promoted" team unless they have an unlimited source of capital to be competitive once the 8/8/8 happens. Even then, it would take a monumental effort.....
We were the worst team in SL last year......Salford won more points than us.....and we easily beat the teams who finished 1 and 2 last year in the championship.

The Stags and the Skolars will charge you £6 on the gate. The standard certainly isnt Super League but you'll see close games rather than Broncos being shellacked every week, you'll see committed players giving their all rather than that awful shambles you've been used to over recent years. If the Broncos cant be d with your support take it somewhere where you'll be appreciated.

The FA are looking at long termism than instant gratification which has what has held Spain and Germany in good stead. The astroturf pitches at The Hive have enabled a move to Level 2 Academy for Barnet FC under the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), which aint bad for a League 2 club with no fans aye. Who knows what could happen if we get a youth academy built up here aye.

[size=150HOW WILL WE HAVE A WINNING MENTALITY FOR THE FUTURE IF WE KEEP ON DWELLING ON THE MISTAKES OF THE PAST.[/size
We are not relegated yet, and until it is mathematically proven by points, we still have a chance, thus, GET BEHIND YOUR TEAM.
25 chances to stay up, who cares about predictions, what loving chance have the lads got if WE don't even believe in them. In means a lot as players to hear our support. We CAN be the 14th man!
We still didn't finish bottom. That's a fact - no clinging/insanity/insecurity, just fact. No doubt you will be here rubbing it into everyones faces bringing morale down if we have a bad run of results, when it is your team!?
Dreaming is good. If not, we might as well tell the lads not to bother and just put up the white flag. The last 10 minutes on Saturday was great to see the lads continue fighting, when last season heads would have been down. There is a new fighting mentality in this team, and I like it, alot. Not knocking your realism, but sometimes, that extra mental push of positivity can push a team over into the right direction - the whole minid over matter theory and we can help that by getting to The Hive and getting behind the lads.
Who cares about gates. Huddersfield were League Leader Champions and STILL couldn't raise numbers - it's about the atmosphere that is generated by those little fans that are there, and it was great on Saturday. Anyhows, your mantra is - we are all doomed - look at what has happened before - then you expect crowds to rise - and then criticize about low numbers!??
The same question when Salford were in the up e creek last year. If we show enough interest here at The Hive, investors may be interested. But we have to specualte to accumulate, especially after one of the best RLWC's to have ever happened - with regards to THAT semi final and skill set plus passion on show on that day, which saw a lot of Londoners attend that game - and come back fully impressed with the game.
1,200 is good considering we have just moved in and just got a team together in the shortest of time frames. Higher numbers would be great, and by the sounds of Barnet fans who went on Saturday, they could be popping along more as well. All sounding very encouraging, much to your chagrin, perhaps.
Guess what, business people make mistakes too, though they are savvy enough not to dwell in failures but to look forward. How would they be successfull as a buisiness person if after tough times they packed it in?
That is Genius, to keep your head, when all around you are losing theirs. Genius indeed.
The future's new, the future's Blk & Blu

IF you were a season ticket holder last year and IF you want to see Broncos play this year then I suggest you speak to the Hive.
I've mentioned this before but Barnet fans were in the same situation that concession season tickets last year were for 60+ and 65+ this year. We spoke to the club about this and it was agreed that last years season ticket holders aged 60-65 will get concession membership as if they are 65+.
So contact the Hive, tell them how you feel and see if they will offer the same deal. At the end of the day they want you to come so are unlikely to turn you away.

Information on the website is slightly different.
WHAT IS A CONCESSION?
Over 64s and Under-19s
WHERE AND WHEN CAN I PURCHASE A CONCESSION TICKET?
NON-MATCHDAY - Anywhere in the stadium for £8 off the Adult price if booked in ADVANCE.
MATCHDAY - Concessions can purchase a ticket on the day for £8 off the Adult price in the West Family Stand Home (blocks A & B) and the West Family Stand Away (blocks F & G) only.
WHAT IS A JUNIOR?
Under-14s
WHERE AND WHEN CAN I PURCHASE A JUNIOR TICKET?
NON-MATCHDAY - Anywhere in the stadium for just £5 if booked in ADVANCE.
MATCHDAY - Juniors can purchase a ticket on the day for £5 in the West Family Stand Home (blocks A & B) and the West Family Stand Away (blocks F & G) only.
I presume it is the same for us with RL, as it goes direct to the Barnet ticketing system, which I used.

Is this true?
We have less away fans coming because we are in a lower league but generally the number of home fans coming has been fairly static between 1-2k depending on how well the team is doing and the opposition. A good season in league 2 will get us avg of 2500-3000, a bad season 2000-2500. A good season in Conference 1500-2000, a bad season 1000-1500.
If I give an example :
Sat 15 Feb 2003 Home against Margate when 9th in the conference, attendance 1100.
Sat 15 Feb 2014 Home against Tamworth when 9th in the conference, attendance 1300.
Margate are a bigger team than Tamworth and would've brought more fans, plus they were higher in the table than Tamworth when we played them.

I thought my post was clear. The membership is 65+ for concession but Barnet fans got an agreement with the club that existing season ticket holders aged 60-65 would be able to get a concession membership as if they are 65 if they had a concession for being 60-65 last year. I know what the ticket prices are and I'm not saying they are otherwise.

| It is indisputable that David Hughes has taken us to the brink twice in the past five years.
The first time was when he wanted shut of Lenagan as a non-investing majority shareholder. I don't remember anyone claiming it was Paul Blanchard's fault and I don't remember David getting dog's abuse either.
The second time was when he wanted shut of us being based at Harlequins Rugby Union Club.
This time round there was sustained criticism from several supporters which started with the mention of Gillingham and re-emerged time and time again as the season went on. But this time the criticism manifested from concern to what I would describe as snide remarks to downright bullying and trolling.
Gus has taken more abuse than anyone has a right to give and this has spread to anyone whose posts included anything positive. It is of no surprise that this has led to the opposite of what was wanted e.g. less communication rather than more, less fans forums, less different posters on the board rather than more etc.
I have lost count of the number of posts which are merely a cut and paste of comments with a lot of derogatory statements and statistical "facts" under them.
I do not want us to lose either David Hughes and I do not want the ill will to be read as representative of London Broncos as a whole. I would call on the moderators to consider a final warning appropriate for trolls with a permanent ban to follow. We must drive away the malignant if they are not to spread.

Very little.
Which is why his continued presence is an abiding mystery.

| Quote ="markrammond"I have lost count of the number of posts which are merely a cut and paste of comments with a lot of derogatory statements and statistical "facts" under them.
I do not want us to lose either David Hughes and I do not want the ill will to be read as representative of London Broncos as a whole. I would call on the moderators to consider a final warning appropriate for trolls with a permanent ban to follow. We must drive away the malignant if they are not to spread.'"
David has made some errors, no one denies that, even now himself, but here it seems that whatever he does, he does not seem able to win, but he is the one person who has stood personally by the club for so long, with his own personal investment.
Rugby League supporters do not seem to be able to Unite? many northern fans & clubs are really parochial in their attitude, here at RLFans when the London forum was started there was a real warm united feeling, but then it became far too personal, and good loyal fans disappeared, not willing to put up with the abuse. I should think we all want to see our Club succeed, and that will help in return other clubs in London long term, and more so the junior game. I hope we can start looking forward more Postive, we will not always agree, but that is life, but the constant attacks do the club itself no good.
I'm unsure how many moderators we now have? and who they all are.

| Or you could just pay no attention to posters you don't like. No one is forcing you to read them.
It is pretty desperate to call on moderators to ban posters just because you don't like their views.

If he got rid of his superfluous CEO he'd win big in PR terms.

But it's the relentless negativity that is driving away the masses apparently.
Ban the Gus bashers & they'll be flocking to Edgware in their droves.

Do you really believe that?
Tell you what I'll put it to the test with an experiment.
I hereby declare a moratorium on my Gus bashing for the forseeable.
