| As an away (Wigan) fan I'd be very sorry too see you move from the Stoop. Next to Catalan it's my favourite away trip, although the band in the bar post match this year wasn't up to your normal standard.
Gilingham seems a very strange choice, but we'll still come down (already looked at local hotels). I used to like Brentford, are they not having a new ground built, so would that not be a better fit IF you have to move?
Like most of the posters on here I hope you stay at the Stoop. Good luck, and well done on securing Tony Rea as your coach.

They hope to build a new ground at Lionel Road, about half a mile to the east of Griffin Park, but it won't be completed before at least the 2017 Superleague season.

| I would rather pay £300 than move to bloody gillingham. I simply WILL NOT travel out of London to watch London play. Really want to be happy about Tony Rea coming back but can't until I know we won't move to Gillingham

Same here. If the move is announced, Rea simply has a new job at another club that don't interest me or have any connection to the club I support.

| :I would definatley pay more to stay at the Stoop. Do you think the move could be as big a smoke screen as the new coach was.
Gus on friday - We will not know until maybe November who the new coach will be , we have had a lot of international interest
Tony Rea - no I am not applying
Today - Tony is the new coach on a 2year contract - I dont have a problem with him as coach
Moving - we are going to Gillingham / Orient / Brentford / Aldershot and anywhere else people want to throw in the mix.
Probably tomorrow we will be told we are staying at the Stoop with reduced rent (due to proving other places do want us) and a £100 higher price season ticket to help with club costs - again I would not have a problem with that.
We can dream

| Quote ="markrammond"Let's assume a sports fans A and B live in central London and they are both based within walking distance of the London Kings Cross/St Pancras railway stations.
Fan A supports London Broncos at the Stoop whilst Fan B supports London Broncos at Gillingham.
It would take fan A, who goes to the Twickenham Stoop, between 52 and 59 minutes to get to Twickenham Station and would cost £8.50 for his off peak travel. Given that he has the cheapest season ticket possible, he also uses, in theory, £7.61 of his season ticket to watch the game. So the total cost to him is £16.11.
It would take fan B, who goes to Gillingham, about 60 to 63 minutes to get to this station but would cost £17.50 for his off peak travel. Given that he has the cheapest season ticket possible, he also uses, in theory, £7.61 of his season ticket to watch the game. So the total cost to him is £25.11.
The difference is therefore £9.00 per match to the central supporter. The time difference is nominal. And if he pays an extra £100 for his season ticket there is in theory no difference at all.
'"
Most fans don't live near Kings Cross though and once you move away from there suddenly it becomes a much harder journey, there are not many connections that head out to Gillingham compared to the ease of getting to Twickenham which is a short train from Waterloo, Clapham Junction etc. Technically, I live in Kent according to my postcode yet it took me far longer to get to and from Gillingham than it does the Stoop, such is the nature of public transport towards that part of the country.

There lies one of the problems, have the powers that be consulted anybody on price increases in order to stay at the Stoop? I'm all for value for money, but it's a double edge sword, to higher price then people won't buy, too lower price the hard core will, but the floaters, don't as the the product suffers through lack of investment.
They need to strike a balance, for what you get as a sport and spectacle as a whole, I think its a cheap source of entertainment. A £ 100 increase on a season ticket would be fair reflection.
They could then market better family ticket offers like they always used to when we were at Brentford.
As been said before until the team are competitive for back to back seasons, making play-offs and semis in CC, I don't feel much of an impact to fan base will be made. Also the away fans experience has to be considered, do away with the after game bands etc then it really becomes a take it or leave it fixture.

| There could be three price levels, one behind the goal, one for the East and one for the West. That way every-bodies pockets could be satisfied.

This sums up 100% the role that Gus has at the club.......FFS, Even Stevo, not 1 minute after Gus had said this, mentioned the new coach would be announced within the week......It would seem that DH had told everyone except Gus
IMO.....David Hughes took over the running of the club the moment the "review" was announced......he sacked staff who he thought were doing nothing other than cost him money, decided Twickenham wasn't working and started putting feelers out for somewhere new....the move, no matter where it is and what the club are called will be yet another pointless act by the club/Mr Hughes unless it is backed up with 1 million pounds worth of marketing over 5 years.
Can anyone name another SL club or Championship club that won't be marketing its Season Tickets either on or before their last home game of the regular season?
It's just not cricket I tell you, just not cricket

| The cheap Season Tickets were a good idea. It was an incentive to get a number of people in the ground, be it RU fans, football fans or just floating fans who turn up three times a year. However, it never seemed to work.
I don't think that any club will have the fans this club has. There are fans from London, Surrey, Hampshire, Essex, Kent and probably other counties that turn up for home games, I doubt that Wigan, Wakefield or any other team will have fans turn up for regular round games who have travelled from 5+ counties.
Wherever the club plays, its not going to suit everyone. Twickenham is just too far (and to expensive travelling to/from) for me but its a five minute journey for others on here.

| I too would pay more to stay at the Stoop, and would pay a reasonable premium for an allocated seat.

Booo- means sh*t spots for those of us who prefer to just turn up on (80% of) matchdays, which is a bit of a take when there are inevitably empty seats in prime locations due to ST holders not turning up, and then everyone just ends up moving anyway, or at least I do. In honesty I don't think we have the attendances at present for allocated seats to be requirement.

| I've loved the unallocated seats, means I've brought people with me to all bar two matches and could sit with them in the places they'd enjoy it from most.

But how many "extra" people bought them? How many even knew about them? I recall from my "O" Level Economics lessons something about "price elasticity". You can increase the price of something to a certain level before people decide it's too high and stop buying it; but equally you can cut the price so low that you don't sell any more units. We need to pitch our price at the top end of that scale, but we haven't. I think we've cut our price too low with season tickets at £99; we're just "giving them away" to people who would happily pay more, and we're not increasing our number of units sold.
We're basically letting people in for (next to) nothing while one bloke (who cannot sustain his expenditure for more than a couple more years) covers all the overheads. It's nonsense, and it can't last; we need a strategy to take us beyond those next couple of years. This has been the case for as long as I've been regularly attending (10 years+ now) and there's no sign of any meaningfull progress.

I don't want an allocated seat either. But, if some do, and particularly are willing to pay extra for them, then make some available. 500 would only occupy about 15% of the west stand. No problem at all. Except it would give the stewards a bit of work.

| You can't please everyone....
If it were me, and if the club insist on keeping east and west open then;
Allocated: AE in both stands
Un-Allocated: everwhere else
Away Fans AA/AB and the North Stand.
BTW, The issue of people who bring mates and can't sit with them is not a problem that the club will care about now......less than 10% of ST Vouchers to bring mates and get rewards had been used by late July.....it didn't work.
