I bet Selco have got this deal for an absolute pittance. I have never known any other sports team get a sponsor for a few weeks of the season only. If this ran into next season, I would be pleased. But short term deals like this are pointless, we will be back at square one in only a couple of months.

Selco are probably getting this for a song, but it's easier to sell 2013 sponsorship when you can show the prospects pictures of the 2012 sponsor. As for why it's happened now, they have just opened a new branch locally and are also looking to expand up norf......for about 10k they will get an idea of the impact a SL shirt has......make no mistake, we will be the cheapest SL shirt to buy into by a fair stretch.....the real value is in the away games.

...I still say that the club should have sold their name like the Warriors over here...they are constantly referred to as the Vodafone Warriors. It should have been sold when the name change was being discussed......another lost opportunity IMO.

As it is, if the club move, as most expect they will, every company in the region they move to should be contacted with a view to sponsorship and/or corporate hospitality.......that's once the club replace the marketing and commercial people let go this year

We have pretty much done every other topic to death so lets talk shirts for next year.

Hopefully we will be able to retain Selco as a sponsor on an extended deal. GF is perfectly right that we need to get shirts sorted for next year nice and early, and in the shop/available on line for Xmas.

IMO the shirts this year have been dreadful and I hope we drop MKK as our supplier. I don`t have a problem with the colour scheme, but the quality, fit, material and that appauling neck line have been terrible. I made the mistake of buying early (will never do that again) 3 lots of home and away shirts for self and family (6 shirts in total) and never put one on my back......ended up buying suitable polo shirts instead.

The MKK shirts must be the worst shirt in SL in terms of value for money. If we leave it to the club to come up with ideas for next season, we all know it will be yet another unmitigated disaster. Some on here are pretty good with doing mock-up designs (I don`t know how to) so lets get some ideas on the go, or we will only go into next year with a load of old tat again from MKK.

I think we have to stick with Black and Sky Blue long term. Would like a black shirt with sky blue V.

Front view is ok..........but back is a bit odd what with pockets etc......mind you perhaps we could tuck the ball in thereicon_smile.gif

Cycling shirts are a completely different garment & product! I don't think you can really compare! of course Adidas will always strive to achieve the best, but for me the whole jersey business be it football or rugby has gone stupid some of the designs current are just constant rehashes of former products, it seems they are out of fresh new ideas.

One thing is clear when you try on one of say the Great Britain Under 24 jerseys from the 90's which I have from the player, they weigh a ton, though look good still.

Think we should stick with the colours, I bet we are tied into the current manufacturer for more than just this season.

Of course, they are "a completely different garment & product!". You surely didn't think I was proposing that we wear cycling shirts? !

Gus reckoned the design this years was based on his presumption that "the shirt had to be something you would wear down the pub"

Not sure about Gus, but if I wear RUGBY LEAGUE shirt to the pub, I wear it as a fan of my RUGBY LEAGUE team and not a fashion statement. It's a RUGBY LEAGUE shirt.......it is worn by fans of RUGBY LEAGUE and therefore, I believe it should look like a RUGBY LEAGUE shirt.

I can't comment on the quality of the product as the club don't ship overseas......nor do they keep promises to do so.

You had a lucky escape GF.....it`s a lot of money to pay for something you can only use to clean windows.

Fair enough. Windy shipped out a couple of we're back T shirts for me.....they were OK, but I'll take the words of those who bought the cricket shirts as to their standard.

Based on how my son's shirt has 'lasted', and seeing as it's only been worn on matchdays (not for playing sports in) the MKK shirts seem to have been the poorest quality I can remember us having. We've got all sorts of old ones at home (ISC,TFG, Carlotti, Canterbury), some of which have been used for playing rugby in and they're in much better nick than this MKK one will be by the end of this season.

Some of the other gear (hoodies, jacket) seem alright but I don't rate the quality of the shirt at all.

Simply based on the frontal appearance of shirt and logo.

Adidas produce well, I have the Sky Team polo shirt & a Sky Team GB polo shirt from a contact and they are good, branding is done well.

It would be good to see the broncos get supplied by Umbro, classic and I think it would be a hit with fans... Black jersey with a large light blue V with a smaller white V on top (similar to NZ Kiwis)

I may be wrong but thought I heard us mentioned on a Selco radio ad on TalkSh*te today.

That's good news....if Selco are pushing the fact they are a sponsor of a "major" sports club, then it shows they are "proud" of the "partnership" and could point to a longer deal being in the offing.......once the club decide where we are playing next year.

talkSPORT are running a competition with Selko all next week to win VIP tickets for your game against HKR and 6 pairs of tickets too, so they're clearly pushing the Broncos sponsorship.

Hopefully the winners will never have been to an RL game before and will see a good Broncos victory!
