He's a pussy. He won't do anything. I suggested he took it up directly with David Hughes when he's over but he wormed out of that. It would involve face to face and he doesn't that.

I think we are all well aware the future is highly dubious. We are full time next year largely due to a one off payment to cushion us. It's pretty obvious that is a dodgy scenario, especially when the main money man is of retirement age.

I'm not sure that anyone is cheerleading this club to death. Lots have walked. Others, myself included, only attend occasionally games. 600 or so stick it out. I'd suggest they will be hurting the most. Even DSGW said she was struggling to keep going, CrusaderPete has walked. His name shows how much that must hurt him. OK so some of our fans pre season predictions were rose tinted, so what? Not pointing out every five minutes all is well does not equal content with the situation.

If someone comes up with a viable plan it's put up or shut up time for all of us. In reality we have a Chairman who has never shown any interest in working with fans and a funding gap that probably makes a full time fan owned club impractical. If someone can see a way forward, let them speak. Personally I can't.

A semi pro fan owned Broncos is potentially possible but would it actually be a good idea? It would be fighting a proven semi proven semi pro team for the same players. Skolars have a junior set up, Broncos wouldn't.(The academy would require third party funding to survive realistically.) We'd end up with wage inflation for the few people interested in playing that level, and two weak teams probably dragging each other under.

We are at a critical time for southern RL. The next couple of years could easily see more than one of our 'pro' sides collapse and the academy system die. No-one wants that.

If anyone has ideas I'm all ears. I don't have a solution and see no value in repeatedly posting that it's dodgy without having something a little more concrete to offer. I think most posters on this board feel similar.

The Club used to read these boards, but now they prefer to ignore the thoughts of the few (getting fewer) fans they have and plough on with their master-plan for making the club stable enough to stand on its own....



As for trying to prevent it? Sadly.....even though I and a great deal of better fans than I have tried over the years, the club has continued to shoot itself in the foot, whilst the aforementioned limb was firmly wedged in it's own mouth.

Halfdan of t'wide embrace...I agree with you that going over it again and again is pointless, but it is still slightly better than trying to eek out any positives from the performances of the team this year. No new Investor would touch this club in SL, so we haven't a hope in the lower league....it all could have been so different.

I think we can all agree with you on the final paragraph. That's the worst thing, this was not inevitable at all.

I believe in our sport and have always been of the opinion that a well run and stable pro club should be able to operate without subsidy from a Sugar Daddy. The issue for us of course is the well run and stable bit; this will only come post Hughes and only he determines how smooth any transition would or could be. I hope he thinks long and hard about his legacy - it is still not too late to make it a good one!
Super League clubs (the successful ones!) are probably equal in size to Conference football teams; Leeds and Catalans operating budgets for this year are reported at around £8m, everyone else is lower than that. To deliver this in London would be at least a ten year project (with no start date as yet) but with hard work and vision it can be done. Find a host commmunity (I don't think Edgeware is the one for long term success) and stick with it - we can deliver a meaningful and growing junior setup whatever level we'll be playing in.
The reality of course is that in 2016 the Club will probably need to transition to part time anyway so speculation about a part or full time supporter owned Broncos is really not relevant. That would be the starting position for any new regime - supporter owned or not - and I trust we the fans more than any here today gone tomorrow Sugar Daddy to deliver long term for Rugby League in London.
At the end of last season when we didn't know whether there would be a Broncos or not, my wife and I lobbied fans for interest in a possible Supporters Trust. Even in those circumstances many people with really useful skills for such an enterprise came forward, and a lot of people pledged four figure annual contributions to help deliver a successful Broncos.
I hope that we get an opportunity to shape the Club's future; the time to start this is long overdue but we must not dismiss what we can achieve with hard work and focus.

Let me tell you something you would only know if you actually went to games. A load of Hull KR fans told us how they'd stuck with HKR when they were down to a few hundred fans ,when they were days from folding for good, when there seemed no hope, when they were in a similar position to where we are now. They were full of encouragement and told us to keep the faith and stick with it, they'd turned the corner and so would we.

They might be right, they might be wrong, but those remarks from true die hard fans of the game and their club mean far more to me that the inane name calling of someone thousands of miles away telling everybody how important he is.

Oh....because as you've said elsewhere, your a REAL fan because you're there. Tell me. How much more money have you contributed to the club this year than me? Surely it's loads because you're THERE right?
Get a grip. HKR are a club with a pedigree and a strong ethic of inclusion of their fans.....Londons SL club under the ownership of Hughes is his ing toy....a plaything that he has ruined, but he' not bothered about because he really doesn't give a flying one about the fans.
And yes, I use the word fanboy, but I do so towards posters on here that 'BELIEVE that we will be back to the top table when the reality is that unless hughes commits to 10 years or finds someone else to,were gone at the end of 2015 as a professional team.....

No. I am not standing for it. I am making my displeasure known to all and sundry and have already said that if given the opportunity to ask Hughes what the he's up to I will if I make the Bradford.

Alas, I do not have access to the finances needed to dig the Broncos out of the hole they are now in. As I have said....in SL we had a chance of attracting money, but now we are in the 2nd tier, the only income we will muster is from the RFL's central fund, the owner and the fans.
I think Central funding will stretch to 500k in 2016......400 fans at 15 quid a pop for 15/14 games is 90k at best so without Hughes we'll have say 600k to try and compete with clubs that have more income and if we get lucky, we then meet clubs with a cap 3 times the size of our income.
Oh...hang on. the 600k is for EVERYTHING.......including rent etc to AK.......and without wishing to annoy the barnet fan on here,if each fan this year gave AK a tenner in income, he's already said he's not happy with the 170k he's got (not counting the RFL bribe)....so we could be looking at 33% of out income on a home?

Just to clear something up BTW.....I have never accused fans who attend games of being sheep or fanboys. I have on the other hand accused those who repeatedly say "what can we do about it" those names....the supporters trust thingy tried (unsuccessfully) to fill a coach to Castleford and muster support (unsuccessfully) to help market the club on the tube and at Origin games.....I'd have been at all events, as I was in the past, running coaches and leafletting, clearing up after the Union lot so the kids could have a decent xmas event etc....so I believe I am entitled to have my say.
