| The shame of it all is that the club management screwed up any chance of us having a competitive side during the close season. The talent that is now emerging from the junior setup could have had a SL pathway with the Broncos if the management had made better decisions.

What a pointless comment.
It's not as if he's going to be living in a flat in the middle of a council estate is it? Just like he wont be living in a shythole in London. Even though there's plenty.

| Good luck to the lad. Whether he has made the right choice is another matter. He will have time to settle in at Salford and with all the changes have a chance to establish himself as a first teamer. Though I do wonder if all the vast number of planned changes at Salford will enable him to develop. I think a more stable side would have been more beneficial to him developing.

Looks like not many of them have found their way to the AJ Bell Stadium, in fact it looks like not many Salfordians have either.

Good luck to the lad, who obviously deserves SL opportunities, which he won't have with us after this season. But letting him go now puts money before Broncos supporters, despite the spin here: www.londonbroncosrl.com/news/5341.php
As the Widnes game was anyway almost certainly going to be my last trip to the Hive, I'm not too aggrieved, but this decision does increase the chances that we'll end this season bottom and pointless.

Where do you live?
If you live in Essex, then I will have to laugh. The London board was always one of my favourite forums on RLFANS. Hopefully, the good posters, a few I have met down the years, haven't been driven away by 'contributions' like yours.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on him as a player? C'mon let's make it an adult discussion.

Don't bring Essex into this
But as for MCB he's definitely a prospect, not the finished article but as the stats suggest he knows his way over the line. Defensively he makes the wrong read every now and then, but he's young and that can be fixed as can his passing, certainly more of a runner than a passer. Physically he's bulked up a lot over a short period of time and no real injury concerns which I'm aware of.

Thanks. I have not watched him play. It is interesting to hear the views of those who have and who watch him regularly

| That's a real shame, he was the best player when you ran Dragons close at the Hive and I wanted to see him this weekend (as I am making the trip for the Widnes game).

| Guardian today hints he is not the last:
[urlhttp://www.theguardian.com/sport/no-helmets-required/2014/jun/24/looking-forward-to-the-rugby-league-commonwealth-championship-2014[/url
'The sudden departure of London Broncos’ brightest star of 2014, Mason Caton-Brown, to Salford on Monday night came as something of a shock. Most followers of the game expected him, Kieran Dixon and several others to depart The Hive at the end of the season so they could remain in Super League. Few thought it would happen with 10 games to go.
There are rumours that the winless Broncos could be gradually dismantled between now and transfer deadline day, with Matt Cooke next to follow fellow England international Scott Moore – a huge disappointment this season – who is heading to Castleford Tigers next season, and Dixon having a choice of several destinations.
With relegation all but guaranteed, it makes economic, if not sporting, sense. If Super League had a minimum salary cap as well as a maximum, the Broncos would be forced to field as strong as team as possible from now until September'
The BBC have helpfully been giving Australian translations:

Drongo - no-hoper or fool. Someone whose "lift doesn't go to the top floor" or whose "lights are on but no-one's home". Derives from a racehorse of that name in the 1920s, which never won a race out of 37 starts.
So I make that another 17 games before we are renamed London Drongos

Alas.......it ain't going to happen. Dr marwans millions had better not result in visits to the hive for next years end of season jamboree though.......I suspect he will walk if they aren't in the top 8 next year.

| Based on his whole approach, sorry mate not be nasty or anything but I agree, he wants silver, if he does not get it then he will go and do something else that gets him that silver.
WIth all the money he is spending he should be getting results, he isnt getting em!

| I always think of a Super League squad has typically four segments
Overseas players (likely to be highest paid players and probably better than your average)
Home Trained Players (wages vary depending on previous club and a mix of quallity)
Club Trained Players in top 25 (On various amounts and variable quality but generally cheaper than external signings)
Outer Squad Club Trained Players (probably on low wages and of variable potential, little proven ability)
The Doctor had a team broadly equivalent to ours - a squad that had finished in the bottom three since 2007.
The good club trained players had been systematically poached.
So he was building on a poor base of players.
He was also a bit naive in that he would have signed Red Rum rather than a horse with lineage traceable to Red Rum and thus with something in front of him rather than a good career behind him.
He was then signing players who have had an ordinary career but one good season.
I wouldn't give Harris the job because he took a top 8 side to one that went to just 4 wins and is thus unproven so I don't think he's learnt his lesson in entirety.
But now he is understanding the market a bit more, taking a gamble on younger prospects.

| How do some people come to their judgment on Marwan ? I wonder if it is misplaced hope or total guesswork.
Before the experts reply think about his record in racing for the last few years he's tried to win the Melbourne Cup.
His records show that after each failed attempt it has increased his determination to succeed by increasing his spending on giving his horses the best chance to succeed ie basing his horses in Dubai and Melbourne for a longer period to get use to the conditions.
Add this to the rest of his early life and the one thing you can't accuse him of is being a quiter.

No one has a bottomless pit of money, not even Marwan, as you say he likes success, but you know he lets old nags go when they stop winning, all the money he has will never see him find the success he wants at Salford, the one who made the big mistake was Saints owner, but then he did not want anyone with perhaps more money!

| "He lets old nags go" we talking Noble,Tim Smith,Shannon McPherson,
Vic Mauro or even Liam Foran. Again think it shows he will do what he thinks is necessary to achieve his aims as opposed to walking away.
Now those all factually happened, I look forward to someone now giving some facts why he would walk away after only 2 seasons
As for the money he's just had another 10k winner at Chester, that's around £435,000 so far this season and that's from 182 runners he normally averages around 500 runners for a season.
