| Capacity 4163, seats 637, covered 1350. Given SL minimum requirements, if the club does move there it would seem to indicate that they're planning an immediate drop into the championship as given the hassle the Northern clubs have had over their grounds I can't see them taking kindly to us playing at Farnborough.

| Does anybody know if our U 19's or any of our youth teams have ever played at Farnborough in the past?

| There is also an unfinished 1300 seated stand. I suspect any deal would involve that being finished - multi sport grounds can get access to new grant sources.
Not aware of the youth ever playing there. They have a perfectly adequate and probably cheaper ground a few miles away. If this deal does happen I don't believe our juniors are likely to be primary tenants.

| If this is for the U19's then surely this indicates that the club are staying in West London? I doubt the 19's would be playing in Hampshire if the club were uprooting to Kent.

| Talks have occurred but "not expected to go any further" - Farnborough also talked to a Rugby Union team about them moving in but they said no thanks as well

Nice little ground, but it would be a major error and only confirm that it is The End of Super League in London.

Do hope its us going there. Loved the Gallery and the real ale bar. Top pub near the cemetery. Increase the length of the pitch by wheeling in a bit of astroturf behind the goals. Let Barry Hearn have a go at marketing, he seems to do ok with the other sports he has been involved in. Not in a Union heartland and best of all in LONDON.

| Wouldnt have been my first choice and its a pin for me - how do you get to it by public transport from Hampshire? However rather there than out of Londomn and if Hearn got involved i would be all for it. he is a serious business man and involved in sport - and knows how to sell

Probably be a case of train to Waterloo , jubilee line to Stratford then central to leytonstone , unless you fancy walking through the Olympic / QE2 park from Stratford, although I'm not sure how long it would take you on Shank's pony.

| Starting to think Gus is a genius.......8 months ago a great many fans were against any move......he chips in with Gillingham as a taster, safe in the knowledge that his real choice, Orient, will be welcomed with open arms.
It would seem that only a handful of us are still curious as to why exactly we are leaving the stoop......we never EVER had an issue with being kicked off the park before this year, it is a Rugby Stadium and we have attracted decent crowds there in the past.....a change of venue is not the solution, but by clever manipulation of what we're told, Orient will seem like a brilliant idea by the time it is announced.
It really is becoming a case of "the emperor's new clothes" with regard to the goings on at the club

I dont think its a case of the fans being particularly happy with a move away from the Stoop but more like they are resigned to the fact that its going to happen, and are supporting what they believe is the better option. That being of course seeing a London side play in the capital.
In an ideal scenario though yes we would play in London at a rugby stadium, as in The Stoop.
I would be up for going to Orient though if needs be.
I suppose half the current travelling makes it even more appealing.

When Forty-20 magazine did an interview with Gus that covered the fact we were leaving Twickenham Stoop it basically stated that this was for financial reasons. This was not a direct quote from Gus but the way it was included in the article gave a pretty broad hint as to who the source was.

| IMO the only good reason for leaving The Stoop is for financial reasons and if this is the case, can't blame DH for wanting to make the move and save a few bob.
Wish we could stay at The Stoop though.

| The Stoop was always the wrong place to attract punters to RL. Orient is a better bet, RL is more attractive to football supporters. Pity the pitch is so small.

| Rubbish Pop Pan...look how many football supporters we gained at Charlton and Brentford...a handful which is more than offset by the handfuls of Quins RU fans we gained.
However, I do concede that Orient is the least worst option for RL in London.

Sorry I'm with the panther on this one, we were slowly growing crowds at Brentford, we were never going to win over any substantial number of RU fans.

We invited the neighbours in for tea and cake at Brentford...the population of Twickenham don't know we exist. We have never made any effort to attract fans from the Twickenham area.....generic newspaper adverts in the local press do nothing, but getting off your and leafletting 10,000 houses within 5 Sq Miles certainly would.......the problem is and has always been, one option involves picking up a telephone, the other a bucket load of hard work.
Laziness....it's what gets you a job at the club. There was no need whatsoever for a return to the Broncos name...it was hailed as a new beginning, a chance to get the ball rolling and build a fan base...there was no mention of the ground being too expensive then...in fact, in 6 and a half seasons we seemed quite content there......but you know who needed something to take DH's mind of the catastrophic failure of the rebrand and the continued fall in attendances, together with a still sponsorless shirt, so the grounf became a problem.
Orient will see our crowds edge back up.....but please remember, we were averaging 3,400 when you know who came on board....just because he's dragged that down to 1,900doesn't mean that getting it back up to where wewere in 2010 is a success.......but it will secure him another 12 months stolen salary in my opinion.
