He's an honest trundler kind of prop who has fallen down the pecking order to about no 6 prop at our place and we've just signed on one of our younger prospects on a long term deal so it was about to become no 7 prop! He's a similar level player to colbon and matt cook really, average superleague player who does his best, if you're happy so far with colbon and cook you'll be just as happy with wheeldon imho

Whats this 7 props you speak of?

after years of being light weight in the pack we had a concerted effort to "go large" this year to that extent we have 8 props, yes 8 props in our named first team squad (although 2 of them are juniors really!), the front row is the strongest part of our squad with 3 hookers as well. One of these lads, James Green is getting rave reviews in our reserves and he's a bit of a giant so is seen as a long term better bet than wheeldon and has reached the point where he needs to be in the match day squad for his development.

Games moved on since then. Most teams should really only have three props and maybe a converted centre leading the pack. Any more is pretty pointless.

that's what we always told ourselves with our previous "lighter more mobile pack" theory, we'd just simply out run wigan, saints, warrington etc. In reality though there is no substitute for go forward as we are seeing now with a settled halfback combo running off the back of it, we are using more often than not our ball playing prop watts at 13 to add more grunt. sounds terribly old fashioned but it really is true a good big un will always beat a good little un in rugby league.

There's no need to justify the policy. I think it was the Broncos' policy that was being questioned, rather than KR's.

Is this guy better than Krasniqi, Thomas, Bryan? Would be very surprised.

Once again, if we have a spare £10-15k, spend it on getting bums on seats.

Would expect him to be better than Thomas. With Hickey not elegible the club still didn't recall him from the Skolars. I'm begining to wonder if Thomas is going to make the grade. Krasniqi is still a bit raw and needs to be used sparingly at his stage of development.

Do you really expect the club to announce it before it's been rubber stamped? Moaning for the sake of moaning.
