Such tragic news. My thoughts are with the Purdham family tonight.

I've followed Rob's career and he has always been one of my favourite players. His attitude, temperament and workrate are a credit to his family and his Cumbrian roots. With this in mind this is truly a tragic day, and by all accounts couldn't have happened to a nicer family. Devasted for Rob, and for the wider Cumbrian community and hope they can somehow find strength at this time. Needless to say my thoughts are with Rob.

Tragic day for Cumbria and all the families effected by this act of selfishness. Hopefully there will be a minutes silence on Sunday in respect for the community that has suffered in such a way.
