| At least the win gives the club a chance to sack RP allowing him to leave with a bit of dignity.
Having followed the club for 30 years I wont go back until things change, and that hurts.
After watching the club through all their name changes etc I can honestly say that this season has done it for me, no passion, no commitment and no ideas.

| Great finish to a pretty dire game, I don't see how people can question the effort but the lack of creativity is becoming increasingly annoying.
My MOM would have been Bryant for what it's worth.

Yes he needs to keep up his statistics for Afar! so he can tell us all again over and over again before the end of the season, sorry Gutterfax but you do bring it on yourself at times.
Thought when we took the lead and they way the Vikings were playing we could take control, but back
to business as usual.
The finish well it is not good for the heart! I must have driven 200 miles before I settled down and relaxed. Still we know what needs to happen, will it be done though???

Spot on. Wish they could play for 80mins with the passion they displayed after they went behind.

Plenty of passion and commitment today. Lack of ideas yes, but probably due to lack of confidence.

| Rodney missing the conversion of our fourth try was a master-stroke. If the scores had been level, Widnes would probably have won it with a drop goal.
Enjoyed the game, classic though it wasn't. That's sport though.
I've not been impressed with him all season, but Rinaldi was excellent today.

| Once again, that bloke with the no 7 on his back seemed to do everything.
Yes, a win is nice but let's not get carried away. Aside from anything else, I can't recall a team at this level fouling up the play the ball as often as we did today.
And what was Betts' problem at the end? He was really having a go at the 4th official.

Don't know but he'd have every right to be very upset at the game-time clock not working.

| I'm just going to enjoy the win today and discect tomorrow. I almost left when Widnes went over with just 3 minutes on the clock. RE: the stopped clock with 4:19 remaining, I was wondering how Hicks would know when to blow the final whistle. Thankfully it was after our winning try!

This was noticed by the Match Commissioner & the Time Keeper, hence the announcement of 2 minutes left over the PA. Time Keeper does not rely solely on that clock for knowing when the 40 minutes are up. Hicks knows when to blow because of the hooter & should that fail the Match Commissioner can inform the ref via a TJ.

Rinaldi also seemed to take some of the workload away from Gower, CG really seemed to benefit from JuJu being out there! Nice to see some of our forwards putting a shift in, thought Bryant had his best game for us and that Clubby was good too! I know the last gasp win only papers over the multitude of cracks but it's nice to have a win to celebrate!

Bring what on myself?
Am I wrong?
Have the club have actually improved attendances, turned away shirt sponsors, sold loads of corporate boxes, employed a coach who knows how to get the best out of a team and have just slipped into the play-off positions?
No, it's not a fact.
2,117 is a brilliant crowd by the standards set at the start of the season....everyone involved should be applauded.
Only off the bottom on points difference, a sponsorless shirt, empty boxes and averaging 2,783.....down 11% on last year and 18% since the current CEO took over.
9 wins in 44 games of SL rugby, 15 months since a SL win on the road and posts on here and facebook from fans who will not be renewing their season tickets...
Enjoy the win against a team we should have hammered with the amount of ball we had but had to scramble for.......Keep Calm...Carry On!

Change the record man! You're not wrong but nor would I be if I came on here EVERY DAY and said that Dixon was our fastest player over 10m and went into a number of stats to prove it.
But back to the game....
I agree with all the Rinaldi comments, the first time he got on the ball from dummy half he attracted a defender before the pass and it was little shimmy which sent Caro over, sent the marker completely the wrong way.

My first match of the season and to be honest it was not as bad as I had braced myself for. Didn't look like there was any effort missing just confidence and sometimes a bit of luck.
Was suprised to hear the 'supporters' booing after 90 secinds when a try was scored against us. While I am sure its been frustrating I am not really sure how people think that will help
Only made one game last season as well which was Leeds at home so a 100% record in the last 2 years

Bollox....I was content to let some fans stew in their own sense of wellbeing after the win today....the clubs #1 apologist was the one who dragged me into this thread.....don't blame me for biting when the bait is laid out in the open.
Good win and it means that we should keep the club record of never finishing bottom of Superleague by finishing second bottom.........not a bad result for spending the cap and rebranding

| It amazes me that some are drinking in the heady heights of beating a Widnes team who have struggled away all season, and we have the majority of the play yet have to rely on a last gasp effort to win. One wonders is this the last breath of the club before we die? Not a pretty sight but hey our season has now started. Off to the pub to celebrate and can't wait until the next match at Fartown.

| For what it's worth...
As usual thought we were pretty poor today, too many mistakes, especially at ptb which is unforgivable imo, too much cluelessness in attack for all the ball we had, and I am surprised at all the comments about the effort from the side when it seemed pretty obvious to me that Widnes wanted that game more- we may have put in a bit more effort than in recent weeks on account of being back at home at the stoop, but the completely despondent looks on the Widnes players' faces at the end and the jubilation with which they celebrated their scores told the story; there was a level of passion from them that I don't think we've seen from most of our side this season.
Bottom line- we beat a side that are almost as bad as we are away from home, is that anything to really get excited about? Am grateful to have witnessed the win but fear it will be the last of our season...

| Last time Widnes played away at London Broncos we won 68-10 and they have not had an away win in Super League since they beat Leigh Centurions seven seasons ago in June 2005.
I felt that the first half should have seen us convincingly in front with both position and possession heavily in our favour and yet the poor coaching meant that even with six plays in the oppositions ten metres we looked unlikely to score. Craig Gower was meritorious in the first half but few others looked a class apart from the Vikings.
The second half made the Broncos look like the fourteen point underdog and it all looked ominous with Widnes missing a host of chances to finish us off with missed penalties and sheer incompetence from Ah Van. With Rodney hitting the post with an easy chance it looked game over and the win in the last second papered over the cracks.
It was like the win at Batley - you felt that we stole a win somehow but it was gratefully received.

For this team to dig itself out of the hole it has found it is in, it needs to celebrate each bit of good news, every scratchy win, so that a bit of confidence can return, and a formula for success can be found. You need to first find the light at the end of the tunnel, before you can get out of it.
To get off the bottom of the league, we need to be second bottom. Then we need to be third bottom, and so on. Bit by bit, a few steps forward.
If we can't even enjoy our wins, then my goodness me.
