The programme now picks up RL players from 10-12 and takes them through to open age. I’ve been watching the youth teams for years and what you see know is true RL players playing RL whereas in the past it was RU players having a go.

The dream team is the under 15/16’s at the minute- possibly 7 first teamers in there. Hughsey is ending them all to Aus next year.

There is a GB centre in the 16/17 year range who is a good player. There is the stand off who has just joined the main squad and the winger recently signed on a long term contcat.

The majority of sane posters can name the number of players that are good enough to play SL who have come through our "youth system" on one hand.

I hope ES is right, as the current crop are way off the required standard.

I believe in 3 years the conveyor belt will be helping Quins to start winning the academy titles, then hopefully some of the youngstrs will become 1st team stars.

I fear DH will have retired and passed on all financial responsibility to Another by then, and it may be one franchise application too many.

If Danny Williams can make it there then Sheriffe will have no problems. Had hoped Sheriffe would put his hand up for Jamaica RL and give it a go for the 2013 WC.

According to a couple of rooster fan forums we have signed Anthony Cherrington on a year's loan and they expect announcement in the comng weeks.

thier fans seem to think if it does happen it be good move for him and that he will do good over here. My only problem is still dont what this injury was that kept him out for a season and is he over it if roosters are happy to ship him out for a year. Unless its the normal thing and a way round salary cap for them. Then they get a player back the following season fully match fit.

Only problem they can see maybe with the visa as hes been a bit of a bad boy in the past..

He is well regarded in the NRL, asst to his father at Newcastle and at the Roosters as well as coaching Tonga. He has also been with Quins before, being Tony Rea's asst back in 2006. He would be no a no-brainer; young Aussie, studied under Brian Smith, connection to the club, lived in London before, head coach of a national team, eager to be a head coach in first grade. Rohan Smith is definitely a realistic and genuinely positive option for the club, if he applied.

Luke Ambler a young prop from Leeds has joined us on loan for a season . Dont know to much about him but does anybody else ?

Ambler is an Irish international prop or second-row. Started at Salford before moving to Leeds in 2009. Will turn 21 in December and so too old for u20s. Looks a little podgy around the gut area, and only looked decent when Leeds were on top last season.

I've said it elsewhere but for us there is little difference in signing a player on a 1 year loan deal and a player signing on a 1 year contract. He is a welcome addition to the squad.

If he's anything like Luke Burgess we're on to a winner.

Even if it is a rumour at the moment about Ambler. At least for once with us taking a player from Leeds(BJB apart), the Leeds fan rate and want back. And again like with BJB they feel a season down with us could do him the world of good.

Now i have heard a rumour that we have signed former Hudd's HB, Tom Hemmingway whos been playing for Blackpool Panthers.

All i know about him is, he's 23yr and was king of kickers in 2008.

The last couple of years at the Giants he had a shoulder injury
he played on and off, and never let us down, exellent kicker, Giants have plenty of halves, so he was cut. Still young, could develope.
