| Bloke is clearly a plank. Spare a thought for Brentford who share with Irish & RU does more damage than RL to the pitch. But that didn't look too bad yesterday. With how much rain there has been around the last month or so, tiddlywinks would damage the surface.
Sounds like a coach looking for excuses.

Lol......wendyballers will always blame egg chasers and not their coach or.players. I see us being mobile in 2023.....where next for the Dave Hughes vanity project?

| Surface isn’t a carpet. A little thin patch just in front of the benches but no massive problems I’d say. Robinson is a pretty smart guy but he may be under pressure. I wouldn’t take it personally. Nothing to fret about I’d suggest.

I would and I will.
Part of the great scheme was getting Dons fans into Rugby League. Rightly or wrongly, their coach has taken a sideswipe at us as an excuse for them being at the wrong end of the table and that will stick with a great many of our new target audience.
What to do? Lobster should be on the phone now to his opposite number......but he won't be. He should be saying that such public statements are unacceptable.....but he won't.
As I've said. This vanity project will be on the road sooner rather than later.

I agree that having a quiet word would be sensible. As a massive critic of the move as it is such a complete hassle for me to get to SW London and the fact that RL attendance levels and ours in particular do not warrant a 9000 seater stadium and the additional training ground costs I bow to no one in my criticism of the move but it’s done. (one could say we deliberately ran Ealing into the ground so it was unsustainable - sub 250 crowds!) Raising animosity levels with the Dons is no help. There manager should know that and it’s shabby of him but so should we. In fairness its not the Dons fault that we thought we could spend absolutely nothing on anything but grounds and a short publicity campaign and that every thing would work out.

| The bloke is under pressure and is trying to hang onto his job as relegation looms. His team cannot buy a win. League 2 sadly beckons for AFC Wimbledon.
The fact two games of rugby have been played on The Cherry whatever pitch, is really not a valid reason for his team not to have, I believe won once, in fifteen games, both home and away.
Look at yourself Mr Robinson, not the pitch.

| It's actually no wins in 15. Although the manager was quick to point out it's only 6 losses in 15 ! They like a draw.
He had no need or reason to blame the pitch and AFC Wimbledon supporters aren't impressed. There is a small percentage who never wanted to ground share in the first place and are reminding others of that. But the vast majority are just suggesting the manager is making an excuse.
Talent wise the team shouldn't get relegated, but they lack the experience to see out games. Saturday being a prime example. Cruising at 2-0, the third looking inevitable then two defensive lapses and Doncaster are level. A goal line clearance away from going behind, then a stunning 95th minute save preventing an AFC Wimbledon win. I think they will be lucky not to get relegated now.
None of that is a justification for making the comment and I have no doubt there will be a quiet word in his ear.

History repeats itself. One of the key men behind the rebrand as Quins RL resigned from Quins RU not long after we arrived. Things seemed to go downhill pretty much all the way after that.

| I'm getting tired of being right, but I'll never tire of telling you
London will be moving soon, probably without the financial backing of Hughes (not at a significant level) and will be in the third tier. I genuinely think a ground share with skolars will be on the cards, or in a worst case scenario playing out of Richmond RUFC.....
Hughes has destroyed OUR club......shame on him

| Think what might save AFC this season is the bottom 4 are so poor. Morecambe have just been completely unable to take advantage of AFC's 15 game or so winless run. Mind you their games in hand have now gone so looks like nail-biting stuff til the end of the season. As I posted elsewhere, watched a bit of the Women's League Cup final on TV & the pitch didn't look great down the middle. Still don't understand why they can't cover the rugby lines very well when we did in the 80s. However, the ladies managed to play on it despite the bobbles. It's still a relatively new pitch for anyone to play on so you would expect it to be better next year if they have the drainage right.

| Didn't always cover the lines too well in the 90's. Dulwich Hamlet turned up on a Tuesday at Hendon once to find the home team manager covering up Rugby League markings with green paint. Several players subsequently claimed for a new pair of boots from Hendon.

| AFC are teetering on the edge.
No wins in 2022 (?) with 9 games left.
Chris Thorpe penned the match report and had it up online by the time many fans would have got home.....is he available for us?
there were 8,200 fans there, showing entertainment isn't always about promotion and tophies....relegation fear works

It's a battle to see who will win first this year, AFC Wimbledon or London Broncos. Could be some time before we get a "winner".

AFC will really need us propping them up if they do go down.....problem is, Hughes doesn't like 2nd or 3rd tier grounds

| I’m sorry to see them slip into the relegation zone particularly as they worked so hard to fight their way back up the pyramid. They appear to struggle to score which is very in tune with where Broncos are at the minute and yes I wonder what DH will think of Broncos playing at a 4th tier ground.

I'd suggest that Chris Thorpe is highly qualified to write the match reports for the London Broncos. Already the Programme Editor he took over the role of writing Match Reports immediately after Christmas. He has now written 19 match reports, all either draws (icon_cool.gif or losses (11). The five matches immediately before he took over were three wins and two draws.
So a perfect match for the Broncos who also draw or lose ! Not sure how he'd cope with reporting a win mind.
