| There's been no talk of potential candidates for the coaches position. I wouldn't have thought the current guy will get a look in(Never try to predict Hughsey!!!). Back to the reserves for him post covid.
I was wondering if Chris Chester would be a good call??

| All depends what state we are in next season. Our USP was we were a FT team, albeit not in top flight. So wages would have been on a par and set up similar. As a PT team it’s a different prospect- moving whole family to the most expensive place in England to run a side that might or might not be contenders.
Chester looks like he needs a rest to me. Their fan forum has been clear he should go for some time. I’d have thought an Aussie would be a more likely bet as London would be a draw. In that context if no one comes in for Henderson I think he’s more likely thanChester.
My gut instinct is it will be TT.
When he was brought in it was for the future. Working perhaps to Langley as Deputy when Ward went and then taking over but things went wrong and LAngley left first. Clearly he didn’t like what he saw for the future at Broncos, or didn’t think DW would ever leave or perhaps just felt there were more options in Union.

| The rationale for DW going early was to allow time for the new coach, so would assume the club have it all in hand

| I would like to have seen Jamie Langley as coach. I am sure he would have done a good job.
It is all water under the bridge, sadly.

| It will be Tom Tsang.....
A better question might be, will the new coach have a team to coach? As we have 0 players signed for 2022 right now? As the 2022 team is likely to be 75% Acadamy anyway TT is probably ideal in that he will be on a very low salary, and the only expectation will be to avoid relegation....
All while paying Dons 200K for having 350 fans in a 9K stadium

Not in my time following it, which is 2 decades.
As for a Coach. Tony Rea would be a good option if we're looking to mix experienced Aussies with our own kids, but I genuinely believe that Hughes is on the brink of walking and as such, there'll be no money to pay anyone, so it's a moot point really.

If he does walk now he will be leaving the club in a perilous state. Much worse than when he took over.

His arrogance is the only thing keeping him at it...he'd be remembered as the man who destroyed pro RL in the capital and that would irk him terribly...

| I can't see why he would walk with so much money invested, but I can't see who he could offload the club to for money either. It may be he just ensures the club ticks over in the hope another lunatic steps forward soon.

| I can't see Hughes walking away, he is not that type of guy! It is being talked about that Mr Marwan Koukash wants to get back involved in the game again? except the distance from just outside St Helens? Another guy who took so much stick! this time off the media, but like our owner, he put that much money into the game.

Jaybs, on behalf of the EODBFC (Edge of despair Broncos fan club) we invite you to bang on his door & sell London Broncos to him. Dont forget it's anything but one careful owner.

Short memory?
2013 he was walking......his tantrum resulted in the rfl bribing Barnet to take us in and our relegation due to not knowing we were even in existence 7 weeks before the season started and 6 weeks after other clubs had started their preseason training ...."he's exactly that stort of guy".
Why so people try to defend the indefensible? He has destroyed the club I support through a total and utter lack of any future planning. Remember, when he took sole charge we had 4k fans and we're playing top flight rugby in a purpose built rugby stadium. We are now where we are after he has spent the same amount of money every year. 5 years ago he went on record as saying trailfinders was perfect for us and given we hosted a SL season there and never once filled the place, the need to move again is 100% down to his ineptitude in terms of running a business. The club have never attempted to attract new fans and in the last 7 years they've not even bothered to try and retain the ones they had left, resulting in crowds that are 7% the size of when he took over...
As for Marwan? Another well meaning but ultimately useless wealthy hobbyist....Leigh are welcome to him. He, like Hughes, couldn't understand why fans didn't flock to watch HIS TEAM......bloody amateurs, the pair of them

| I think Hughes will allow himself to be convinced by the ape that this year's collapse in crowds is due to covid and performance due to Ward being disloyal - Hughes does, after all, want to succeed he just doesn't know how. So he'll stick around for the move to Wimbledon, even if it means a part time team, but when they find crowds don't improve (bar, perhaps, a 'reasonable' first game attendance out of curiosity) he'll finally give up. 2022 will be the end of his time at the club.
The only question after that is whether or not enough fans have retained an interest that they can muster themselves to take over the club and keep it going in some limited form. Personally, I doubt it but you never know, some might return after he's gone.

Sad to report, I was too late! it seems he is keen to join up with Derek Beaumont at Leigh, and he is 9 out of 10 sure, he will have him at the club.

To be honest, think the start of the end was 2007 when Lennegan bought Wigan then Quins "Bloodgate" in 2009 that cost us the support of Quins Chairman Jillings & CEO Mark Evans when they resigned. We were never going to get support David Ellis once he became Quins CEO to add to the stupidity of our Mismanagement Team.

Quins never made life difficult for us.....as paying Tennant's we we were a valued income source, but the attitude of Hughes at the time was one of "everyone hates us"......I'm stunned a man who made so much money from selling didn't have the ability to press the RFL and SL clubs into allowing Lenegan to retain his interest in the club. He bussed down thousands of fans to wigans game at the stoop and was more than happy to see his commitment through, but Hughes was again stubborn to the extreme.
Yes....the change at the union club didn't help, but we are about to pay a similar rent to a football club.....I'll never understand why we moved from Twickenham. The club still had a core of about 2k fans......the move to Barnet killed that.....the move to the wedding venue was a step in the right direction (I was against it but admit I was wrong) but Wimbledon stinks of a Gus Mackay excuses move....
......and if you're searching for a day zero of when it all went wrong, Paul Brown stepping down on medical grounds needs investigating.....he was the last RL pedigree CEO we had......15 years ago
