Bit of an interview with Dom Young after his two tries this week.
He seems to have struck up a an instant combination with Kalyn Ponga who returned from injury this week. Dom got 2 tries and 2 try assists - both scored by Ponga. Ponga got 2 tries and 2 try assists - both scored by Young.
An article in the Newcastle Herald (behind a paywall) quotes Young as saying about Ponga "He's such a threat with the ball it keeps some flies off me and I get some space to move".
Young has thrived at Newcastle. The coach has said he was our best performer in the pre season and one of our best trainers. He started in reserve grade and was in dynamic form before picking up a knee injury that kept him out for 6 weeks, but since returning he has forced his way into first grade.
In the Herald article they speculate that he could be a chance to make the England squad for the World Cup if he keeps up his present form.

| Its great to see Dom doing well, he was given a fantastic opportunity and has taken it with both hands - well done to the lad.
He's always had a brilliant natural athleticism and enjoyed his training, whilst at the academy here his game naivety was the thing that he needed to work on and it sounds like he's been somewhat successful in improving that aspect of his game. Just make sure you send him back to us!
