The club need to make a decision and make it soon.

We either recontract Rick Stone now or tell him he won’t be recontracted and move him on to clear the deck for someone else.

It can’t be helping when the coach starts asking about his future in the RL press so the decision is simple back him or sack him but if it’s the latter it needs to be now and the club need to get someone in with enough time to make a difference.

What I’m seeing on the field more often than not isn’t good enough the number of players not looking fit or even getting on the field is worrying if we don’t act and we were to get relegated you would say we will have got what we have deserved.

Come on Ken show faith in Rick or move him on but don’t dally as has happened in the past !!! The time to make a difference is now ......

stones contract will not be renewed so the club must have some idea where they are heading coaching wise

also murphys contract wont be renewed, can see the sense in that as mcintosh is waiting in the wings but he will have to improve.

also ken davy was fuming after the game on thursday night...not been as mad as that since we didnt make the top 8

If the club has any ambition they drop Stone early. And then start talking to the Walker brothers or Michael Maguire.

I agree, there is no point giving him until seasons end if he is to go.

We need someone else is now who can play for next season as this one is a write off already.

Murphy shouldn't get a new contract hes 29 going on 40. Like ive said before if Murphy, Symonds, Wakeman or Hinchliffe get a new deal im not renewing my season card next season. If just Hinchliffe gets one out of those 4 I more than likely will.

Has this squad of players got the bottle to be coached by Maguire, I don't think so.

I hope Ken was furious on Thursday , something wrong if he wasn’t. If he is getting rid of Stone though he also needs to get rid of Thewlis who offers nothing whatsoever on the playing or marketing side ,without that it doesn’t matter which coach comes in nothing will move forward.

I don't think Craig Bellamy would do anything if he had Thewlis constantly signing players from Bradford Bulls. There needs to be a major shuffle high up first and foremost. The club is so drab and unappealing to anyone even half tempted to go take in some games, and the signings have been incredibly average from the MD for years.

Could be a smart idea to publicly announce Rick Stones involvement in the club won't be renewed next season though he'll be staying on to finish his contract and put himself out there for future work.
It will
A) Give Ken proper time on who will best fit the club and negotiate terms. (Not a desperate hiring)

B) Give more coaches time to put there name forward.

and

C) Give our players an incentive to put themselves on the map.. The uncertainty of who the coach is should keep them playing for a chance of first team action next year.

Stone signed Mamo and Wakeman, he asks for or players and thewlis goes and signs them, he didn’t ask for Roche, Walne or brough re signing. If your agent is Martin shuttleworth chances are you will be at giants at some time. Those standing up for thewlis need to realise he is holding the club back, he is inept at his job and seems untouchable

I kind of do blame Ken Davy. I’d like to think that if I were him, I could see what’s going on right in front of my face and do something about it.

Like posts state above, the problem is Thewlis, he seems untouchable (family friend of Davy). Stone has fought to gain some control regards signings etc.

Stone is a good guy and has done a great job turning this club around and getting us into the top 8 last year.

This season has been disappointing so far as has the style of play. I would not call for his head but something needs to happen one way or another.

Tony Smith is an obvious choice if the club decide to go that way. Although any big name target would not turn up for Thewlis to do what he is doing and the club not spend the full salary cap.

I was told he pushed on with the signings of Clough, Ferguson and Gaskell which were moves without any coach input.

All three represented by shuttleworth, young lads in academy been told to get an agent and make sure it’s shuttleworth, that way thewlis gets them to take the deal he wants as shuttleworth is only agent he deals with unless forced to deal with someone else

Stone had no idea who Gaskell, clough and Ferguson were when he arrived, he wanted to bring uate over as he was out of favour at knights at time
