| The answer to your question is, no you can't request him back and 'if' we face you in the middle 8's, he is allowed to play against his parent club.

| Leave him where he is, if he's happy over thereand playing well and doing what Rick has asked him to he will be a good addition next year, in the meantime i'd try Gaskell to HB, Darnell or Brierley to full back.

I think its the only way possible now till Mamo is fit but im pretty sure Stone will stick with Gaskell at FB.
The current structure is not working. If we are going to play the same way then I would leave Brierley out this week as he is just been wasted and move Gaskell into the halves with Darnell at FB as Gaskell may create more near the opposition line and has a half decent kicking game.
Half of me would like to see Gaskell partner Brierley in the halves and see how that goes without Broughy - as I dont think we will win against Wigan regardless ...so it will be a good game to experiment before the Leeds game.
Start with Brough and Gaskell with Brierley on the bench then if that doesnt work Bring Brierley on to replace Broughy as an experiment??????

I remember Wigan away last season he caused them a lot of problems with a hat trick I think or 2 tries - but we seem to have gone backwards in attack and do not seem to want to utilise him.

I know where you are going with this brearley and why, I agree with you about Brough and Breirley, some of us have been saying for weeks what a waste of time it is playing Brierley with our style of game, But just remember why we let Ellis go, It was because he arguably had the skills but not the pace or the presence to take us forward, He had an odd good game here and there but Brierley has done that, ( not this season yet ).
The next move is drop Brierley, Gaskell to half and somehow hope he can inspire our Forwards to play as a unit and give the halves a chance , whether Gaskell is the man i don't know, If he is a quality half why isn't he still at Saints and why has he been playing in the championship, Whatever, I think he will get his chance soon and we just have to pray he can do the business.
I haven't given up on Stone yet, simply because i don't think he has had long enough, but he is going to have to start and come up with something more than he has yet. I have been looking at this season as a fresh start, a chance to get some of our younger players in the side, I don't care if we get beat as long as we are showing some kind of plan but we are getting beat with the majority of our first choice players back in the side, The worst thing is we look no different to last season under Anderson and we had Ellis in the side then.
Everybody says the same thing, Something needs to change, but we have had the changes, we have changed the coach and half the team, Little or nothing on the field has changed yet, We still play the same dreary pedestrian head down and barge style that people wont turn up to see, let alone stay to clap.
I don't know the answer, I'm just praying that RS does and he sorts it pretty soon.

| I have huge concerns over Brough, he just gets worse every game. Every single game when we're putting pressure on the opposition line he puts in an awful attacking kick that completey changes the momentum of the game. He was doing it last year too.
A lot of people disappointed with Brierley, and rightly so. But for me, Brough is the biggest issue in the team right now.

Why not drop Brough and put Brierley at SO, lets see if he has any skills to dictate a game and create anything, We can't do worse, and who knows , I dont think he is that kind of player at all but it might be worth finding out.
Wigan are likely to create some sort of record next week anyway, so nothing lost.

It's a tricky one. To start off with, Brough isn't going to take being dropped lightly. Then you have to hope Brierley and Gaskell (or whoever is playing there) can step up. Brough is really struggling with a groin injury, not sure if that's affecting his decision making, but could be an opportunity to try and get that sorted and see if anyone else can step up...

| You do know Brough is injured and is playing because we have no one else.
He has been crocked for a couple of seasons and is playing with aground tear as I understand.
The club has been mismanaged for years with signings and coaches.
Yet every week it is the same on here.
It,s grix, it,s brough, it,s the coach.
We are in this mess because we did not get any decent cover for Brough two years ago.
Because our recruitment has been poor.
We did not protect Eorl or get rid of him earlier.
We signed players not good enough because they were cheap.
We got wakeman because we were desperate ( tony tonks v 2.0 )
The good days are over. We are basement dwellers whose only aim is to avoid the mpg.

I agree with most of that mate, and i'm not anti Brough, I am and have been his biggest fan on here and at the Stadium, but he is clearly not right at the moment and we are in such deep S***, we need to try and sort something out that works for us so that we can at least have a chance to blood some of the younger players, This season is just about surviving, we can not hope for anything more.
Regards the signings and the running of the club, We have covered this all before. Most people feel exactly like you and me about how it's run, all except the people who actually run it, and if the guy that matters is determined to keep it up there's nothing we can do. Personally i would have pulled the stumps up long since.

Having watched ryan for several years at Leigh, he is not a creative player to drive a team around the pitch.
He is an excellent finisher, knows how to back up and get to the line with bags of pace. But creative half back he is not.
In retrospect, at Championship level, he was devasting, but at SL level, Leigh with brierley were a bit 1 dimensional and SL teams knew how to play us and neutralise him.
Brierley has talent but he needs a team that can play to his strengths. Judging from yesterday's game, Huddersfield aren't that team but then again you seem to have a few challenges Anyway and if you can fix those maybe ryan will flourish for you.
Huddersfield seem to have a tough conundrum- interesting to see what Stome can do about it.

| Have to agree with Durham with most of that.
Regarding Mamo he will be our quickest player is a lot faster than Brierley and will add something new to our attack but I don't know if it will be enough to get us out of the .
Don't believe anything they are saying regarding his injury. Originally it was 2 weeks, 5 weeks in and still no real definite date of his return. My money is on that it will be May before he plays.

I think he must have picked up another injury as the original was to his ankle, but in one injury update recently it said something else (shin? Possibly) I do hope folk aren't expecting mamo to be the messiah. Because he won't be.

| Was away with Broughs best mate last weekend, Toronto have made Brough a big offer for next season, has a good deal with Hudds including coaching, so will be interesting to see what happens as you might want him off your cap.

interesting indeed
his contract is up end of 2018
big decision if true
would be good to keep at the club for coaching though, depends how long he want to carry on playing and if he fancies the stays away in canada from the kids/wife

| Re: Mamo, he put his boot's on for the 1st time and took part in a drills training session last week.
As for the Brough rumour, i would have no problem if this were to happen - Danny Brough has almost single handedly pulled this club through in the last 6/7 years, we've had his best years and in that time he's given us some wonderful memories, whenever or wherever he goes he will do it with my blessing.
We need to find his replacement 1st though.

| I would be happy for Brough to call it a day playing wise at the end of this season and get him in a coaching role. If he wants to carry on playing for a year then let him go to Toronto.
In regards to a replacement Jamie Ellis is not the answer.
Gareth Widdop is looking for a move to super league next season by all accounts?
We almost signed Theo Fages before he went to saints - would of been ideal replacement for years to come.
Youve got to say whoever we get is going to be overseas as there are very few English half backs about especially good enough to replace Broughy. That would mean Rapira not getting a new contract as his is up this year.

| If Brough is playing injured.....why?? Surely this is when we should be taking him out and getting him sorted for the possible/probable big play off games at the end. Gaskell into stand off and Mackintosh to full back. Broughs goalkicking has been off so is this due to the injury? Use Cudjoe/ Gaskell / Brierley.
I'm not sure we will be bottom 4 because apart from Wigan and Cas the rest of SL is poor, but need to find a way of scoring....we waste so many tackles ploughing at a narrow area by the posts, but often look dangerous when moving the ball.
