Terrible signing! This guy in my opinion hasn't been super league quality for a long time, if ever! Hope he proves me wrong though and I suspect he won't be on a lot of money.

Murphy to full back , foster to wing But that is a sad indictment of our academy that we do not have anyone who can step up to play wing.

I would rather write this season off and sign some quality players next season.

With money left from Ferres and Robbo Patrick and Grix. Anderson can build a team that can challenge next season

Hmmm. Where has he been since Bradford a couple of years back? Not a sarcastic comment I actually don't know!
I remember his ball kicking and his hair flopping about which was rather annoying.
However at this current moment in time we need a full back, if this lad wants to put on the claret and gold and try help out situation I am not going to fault him.
much like our fitness staff I will see how things go rather than judging them early let alone before the lads even touched a ball.

I think he's been playing RU for some lower grade team since he left bradford.

Can we have Jared Simpson back if you think Foster is better?

Odd signing. He can kick goals but not much else. No pace. No elusive skills. No power. He can pass but he's a winger so not much need for that.

Defensively he's not great either.

Simpson maybe out long term. I put up a team that could run out next week with the injury list we have and named him at full back to cover grix and one of our lot came out as said he has picked up a bad knock.

Well even if we Use him on the wing it means we can take Murphy to full back!

At this moment in time we need a couple of players to cover injury. Beginning of the season is the wrong time to try get players in!

If its a short term then, well if needs must. Makes the broughton situation all the more puzzling as to why he wasn't replaced. I'd much rather have given one of the younger guys a shot on the wing, but they staff obviously know there's no one up to it yet. But still puzzling as he's got a boot that's it, very poor in defence.

It is exceptional circumstances with Wardle, Grix and Simpson all out and question marks over Brough. Better a disposable journeyman like Foster than ruin the career of a youngster who isn't yet ready.

I think it will be Murphy to centre with Connor Full back, I think that offers more flair at Full back and a more solid edge (Conner and Foster sounds like a defensive nightmare). That said if Brough is out with Connor into half Murphy Full back and probably Lawrence centre, do not like the look of that.

when i first heard they i though he will be out new full back with grix out but he can also play wing and centre so gives us options

not sure where he has been playing , know he played for saints and bulls and remember he was a great goal kicker but we have ellis for that

From reading Jamie fosters social media accounts it looks like this hasn't happened just over the weekend and talks have been ongoing for a few weeks at least.
We are giving him a trial period which seems a sensible approach.
I'm not filled with joy at this prospect- but then again I'm happy to wait and see

Always thought foster to be average at best from what I've seen of him, but then again I didn't think Ellis was a great signing, but look how that's working out. If foster can step up to the plate then its good for everyone.

las for another signing I'm hoping it's someone of a better track record, but its not the end of the season just yet.

The LE says we are sniffing round Brierly with Anderson denying it would be surprising if it was true. Like he's says we need a second rower and wing/centre. Read somewhere we are close to signing a present SL player from someone. We do have the space as foster will be cheap and if Kevin penny can turn it around then so can foster.
