| After 13 SL rounds the average for 2014 is 6335
2013 was 6368
so pretty much the same as last season, only 4 clubs showed an increase

| Static is better than dropping
Away fan numbers remain lower than in past years, home fan numbers are muted by the biggest games being shifted to week nights
Still though the very biggest issue is a lack of general awareness in the town of when the next home game is on.
Thursday tea time in town in my giants shirt got asked a couple of times if we were at home - should be common knowledge
And the number of times after a game I get asked how we did is frustrating

I hate that question. And it's always phrased "How did WE do". I dunno how you did mate, but if you were that bothered about how WE did you should have been at the game instead of sat in the pub all afternoon

| there's nothing as frustrating as being in a pub in town on gameday and people asking if the giants are playing!
thats what we are lacking i feel, the public being aware, apart from the fans going to the game nobody knows there is a game on.
i would say one solution is to play our home games on a certain day at a certain time, like HTFC do, then people will gradually get to realise that the giants play at that time on that day!!

absolutely bang on!
i usually reply with "well giants won/lost/drawn" then they usually say "when i say we i mean huddersfield"
like you said, if they are that bothered about "us" then why don't they come and support us?

| General lack of exposure and awareness in Huddersfield about the Giants, mainly based on apathy. People in huddersfield just don't care about us enough to buy tickets.

| maybe the lack of knowledge is to do with rugby league in general, hard pressed to find anything in the national papers/news etc
maybe as a club we should be targeting social media more, this is the way forward i feel.
but away numbers are down, we have been affected by sky changing games too so the slight drop is not too bad...you only have to look at some other clubs drops in average!
you look at the averages though and the table and the best supported clubs at the top...we are punching above our weight on these terms.. underdogs or what!

| I was really disappointed that I saw no real effort from the club to promote themselves after we won our first trophy in 80 years. Instead of thinking now was the time to go all out and really promote and market the club - let's face it success goes a long, long way in increasing your fan base - they thought that the press and the attention winning the league bought would do the marketing for them. I'm sure they actually saw it as a way of saving money of marketing.
A real mistake and a real missed opportunity. Off the back of that, the fact all clubs appear to have struggled to increase last seasons crowds and the apparent reduction in away support, I see keeping our crowds at last seasons levels as a decent achievement

yes true they could have pushed the LLS abit more than they did, think they took it around businesses in the area etc but not seen much of it.
next years seasons tickets have been poorly advertised dont you think? got mine in the post today but not much else been mentioned of them at games
also how low key was the announcement of huby?? one of the biggest signings we have made in a long time, suppose they dont want to rock the boat too much and cas too

| Most things we do is low key and seems to be at minimum cost, almost a case of the club has given up trying to market itself.

| I assure you the club has in no way given up on marketing! And they claim they have been 'reinvigorated' by fans passion to increase crowds!

| You need look no further than the local Rag. The wendyball lot were getting three full pages of garbage almost every night before they'd even kicked a ball!
But then all they seem to cater for are halfwits, so it's no surprise that they get upwards of 15K every match.

| town don't get 15k at all, they got over 17,000 on saturday, aided by 3,700 travelling middlesbrough fans and £10 tickets through the examiner.
they roughly get between 11-12,000, but announce the attendance's based on tickets distributed/sold.
still shows how much far we have to go to attract even 10,000, saying that though town pull a good percentage of support from all over kirklees and parts of wakefield too.
our fanbase seem to be predominately huddersfield based, with a small number from other area's of kirklees.

| I'm presuming Town still give their crowds out on tickets issued rather than how many are in attendance ?
It says their game last night was watched by 11,000, my mate reckons it was no more than 8,000 actually in the ground. If they are doing this and we can presume that the crowd is actually a couple of thousand lower than what they are giving out it doesn't look all that bad when we think they get much bigger crowds, truth is they don't really.
