| well another win which is good!
certainly a game of 2 halves, we totally dominated the first half, winning every collision, line speed very good, defensively sound, discipline good, basically did all the little stuff right, scored some good tries, bombed a couple too, it was far too easy.
then the 2nd half, firstly credit to wakey who made a game of it, but yet again we stopped doing the little things right, line speed was poor at times, falling off tackles, wrong options in attack, and letting them in for 3 fairly soft tries, which was a disappointment, we conceded far too many penalties, although some of them were pedantic and wakefield got away with the same.
anderson was frustrated, rightly so, i like to be positive, and to all ends i am, we showed in the first 40 minutes when we are in the mood we are capable of playing some fantastic stuff. but i just feel we missed an opportunity to raise the bar even higher today and finally put a team to the sword, but we seemed content with what we did in the first half, and also credit to wakefield who came out more fired up in the 2nd.
i have said all along that performances don't win you extra points, but i am a bit disappointed that we didnt come out firing in the 2nd half and build on the first half and give them a proper pasting.
but a win's a win that's all that matters

| excellent first half, shows what we can do when we complete sets and hold onto the ball, mcgillvary was brilliant today.
2nd half not so good, fell back into our old ways again... we need to be more ruthless, could have done with piling the points on today to help the points difference
but overall it was a good win in what was a tough looking fixture
but puzzled by the starting line up! no broughton which i can understand as he has been poor but kaufusi and taai?? maybe injured, maybe anderson wanted to freshen things up
grix went off injured? again we didnt handle this well. connor looked great on the wing today!
we can actually still think of topping this league again, who would have thought

| jerry played a massive part today, his 95 metre try and 2 brilliant try saving tackles were the difference in the end!
i thought the starting line up was good, yet again mullally had a good game and played with heart and made metres, patrick was his usual barnstorming self, connor looked assured again whether at wing or fullback.

| 32-0 up at halftime means its tough to lift, no matter what anyone says and Wakey made it tough for us.
Week off now and then home to Widnes with a semi-final hangover..hopefully with Cudjoe back too

| We blew them away in the 1st half ..and whether it was a case of taking the foot off the gas or just things not coming off ....we were never in danger of losing the game and i think it was a bit of a case of job done reserve some energy.
Jerry was my MOM, he's a real handful when he's in that mood for any defence, surprised to see Connor on the wing but thought he handled it very well, another try fro him too as well, his confidence must be sky high at the moment and he is given Baloo no reason's whatsoever for dropping him.
Thought Mullally and Crabtree were the pick of our forwards yesterday, Mullally continues to impress me every game and like Connor has given the coaches no reason's for dropping him right now.
Anyway 2 points, another win and only 4 points off the top now !!

| jerry, stand out man of the match. and another impressive display from mullally and conner. anderson said he had to have words with conner at ht for mouthing off at the ref probs put that down to age, second half a little disapointing but all in all a good day out for the giants, and good turnout from our lot aswell even if a little quiet.

PA said he told Connor about 'chelping' at the ref and said if he didn't stop it he'd take him off an play with 12 men! Not sure if that was tongue in cheek or not. I have noticed before he does have a go at the ref so needs to cut it out quick.
PA also said the first half was almost faultless - 2 error spoiling it. However, he did say he was 'disappointed' with the second half likening the game as a whole to 'getting your chinese and finding the rice is missing'.

| Without getting carried away in any sense, in the last 3 games we have seen some promising signs. In our defensive work and commitment, which has been letting us down a lot this season, we've seen gradual improvement - second half against Bradford only 2 tries conceded, one in the first minute and one at the end with the game won, only 16 points conceded against Catalans when we'd conceded over 20 for I don't know how many games, and again less then 20 against Wakey, all conceded with the game all but won.
We've had some key players return and make a real difference when the have - Murphy and Lunt - and the youngsters, in particular, Leeming and Connor, have taken their chances well and done enough to be creating the all important competiton for places.
If we can build on this in the next 4 games we can take some real momentum into the play-offs.

| the first half we had 90% completion rate, win most games with that percentage.
agree about the defence looking abit better now which is needed.
paul anderson said about the win it was like ordering a chinese takeaway and the rice not turning up
kaufusi and broughton got knocks in training so they missed out.

our discipline was pretty good, certainly no worse than wakefield.

| Wakey got away with what we were penalised for on numerous occasions. We certainly did not appear to be ill-disciplined during this match - even though the statistics say differently.

| On a different topic, my daughter was not allowed to take in an opened bottle of water. If it had been unopened she could have. She was even allowed to empty the bottle and refill it inside. The security officer said that this was due to the government upgrading the terrorist threat to include all sports stadia. [The liquid could have been an explosive – even though she drank some to show it wasn’t!
She wasn't the only one caught by this ruling.
I'm making further enquiries.

I agree it was like Child was trying to level things out the one where Lawrence got pinged was no different to what Wakey were doing all game they made a lot of their yards at this time rarely through play and the penalties put them on the front foot but we were comfortable and did what Leeds and Wigan couldn't !!

A young girl with one of our mates (maybe 8 i can't remember) was refused entry by the 'bouncers with jackets on' for having a can of coke....they made her stand with her back to the turnstile wall and drink it before they let her in, poor lass couldn't understand what she did wrong, reading the wakey board a few weeks back it seemed some of their own fans had the same issue and the club responded by saying something along the lines of they hadn't instructed the 'stewards' to do this !!.

TBF the rule itself is quite sensible - it's surprising to me that a sports stadium doesn't seem to have been targeted by terrorists yet. What isn't sensible is that she still had to empty the bottle even after showing it was harmless by drinking some of the contents! A bit of common sense would have been appropriate there.
Reminds me of one time when my almost empty 110ml tube of toothpaste was confiscated at an airport security check - an almost full 100ml tube would have been OK!

Interesting as I had a bag with a previously opened bottle of water inside along with a further couple of bottles of pop. I also just finished a can of lager so would've been prime for a bag search but I wasn't even approached so had i not got rid of two cans i couldve easily have taken cans in! Not heard of checking bottles due to heightened security threat only if suspect of hidden alcohol! Will probably know more once I've completed some training I'm about to embark on. But to say not all bags are being searched they're ain't doing it thoroughly despite the threat!!

I have approached them about this and was told that people were taking their own alcohol in - implying that they weren't buying the *** stuff served in the ground!
Bag searching happens at many grounds now. This wasn't my complaint. It was the fact that people weren't being allowed in with their own, non-alcoholic drinks on a very hot day.

| Yeah but you can't stop one drink over another, it's not about beer - but simply not buying anything from the vendors in the ground
Maybe if they weren't criminally overpriced, shockingly poor quality and ineptly staffed they might have better custom
