How or will Conner take over from Grix next season?

I personally think Grix is an integral part of our team. He has his off games and think they might come with more regularity as he gets older. So will Anderson bring Conner slowly or will it take a really bad game from Grix? Or is the Greg Edan option viable? Not too sure he can get rid of his mistakes. Im not saying hes a bad player but makes a lot of mistakes, as expansive players do. There's not many better sights then Edan in full flight

Connor could do with a bit more experience. It will do him good to be at Batley until we have an injuriy at full back.
And it`s Grix`s position to lose, if he keeps performing why change anything.

think you can thrown murphy into the mix too!

grix will be out OOC at the end of the coming season so maybe they will blood connor slowly giving him the odd game but grix does not miss many games so hard to see where he will get a look in, batley didnt give ours much of a chance to play last season.

dont think we will see eden back now with the emergence of connor

We must start with Grix and I'm sure he will start the year as first choice full back with Anderson already thinking of how he can bring Conner through for experience in certain games.

Defo got to start the season with Grix. I think we should look at Murph at centre rather that full back. He's one of our best defensive players and a great finisher, but the way we have our full back linking up like a 3rd half back I'm not sure he fits that bill. I'v not seen much of Conner but from what I have seen he seems the man to pick up the full back berth from Grix.

What would we give for a Paul Reilly in this generation!!!

Murphy has no chance of been a first choice centre next season.

murphy at centre? would not let anyone down but dont think he would get ahead of wardle and cudjoe.

Much as I liked Paul Reilly he would not get into today's team. His main strength was running the ball back hard which is now a job done by the wingers.
defencively he was poor and he was limited in attack due to lack of pace and poor positioning.

I agree Murph wont get in in front Wardle and Cudjoe I never said he would. But hes not going to be ahead Grix anytime soon. He's going to be a first choice winger in my opinion. If Wardle of Cudjoe lose form or get injured id move Murph to centre and bring Broughton/Blackmore on the wing. If Grix gets loses form or gets injured id bring Conner in at full back.

Not sure he will. Grix has his off days, but when he hits form he's as good as anyone. At his very best, he's unplayable.

I hope Connor gets some game time next year, but I think he's a while away from being the first choice FB.

From the limited time I've seen of Jake I would say he has loads of potential, but so do many others. He will need to knuckle down and do his time to earn a spot in the starting line-up of one of the top sides in SL otherwise he can go and play for someone weaker like Wakey.

I think the critisicm ( whether justified or not) from sections of the support actually helped Scott in the fact he seems to have stepped his game up and definitely answered his critics in the 2nd half of last season.
He is our Full-back so its up to him to lose that position and unless he leaves or his form dramatically dips i can't see him being replaced so easily.

Jake Connor was probably the youngster i was looking forward to seeing play more than any other and in the games he has played he's been very assured and certainly looks a great talent, he needs more game time and hopefully Baloo will see fit to give him more this year to aid his development.

Don't forget Daz grix also was awarded MOM a few times in first few games of the season. If grix hadn't had the game he did against Wigan after receiving a LOT of criticism in the previous weeks we would probably not have gone on to secure the LLS. That was our most crucial game of the season.
I'd also like to see Connor get first team chances- but considering he's represented his country at centre and is a decent half back also there could be plenty of opportunities!

Grix all day long! Have always been a fan of him. Had bad games occasionally as do all players but more often than not he is defensively sound and has really started well with chiming into the line to help with attack!
The main reason I like the lad is when Brett left us to go to wire there was a massive boots to fill, grix has come in and I really don't think he has let anyone down!
If our team can get onto a roll and start turning teams over then Connor should be brought in against some of the lesser side to give him some game time in case injury means he has to come in for a duration

maybe we should just aim for 4th this season, no one wants to win the league anymore, certainly wigan, wire and leeds dont (thats what we have been told by all the other fans)

Paul Reilly was a fantastic player for us, he wore his heart on his sleave, if every Giants player played with his passion and pride then we would be unbeatable, i would love paul reilly in our team in 2014!! a true legend!

But Reilly's all round game is nothing like as good as Grix. They are probably similar ability on defence but Gris is far better on attack as a try scorer and support runner and has a passing and kicking game when Reilly had neither.

In truth Reilly had one strength - that was that he'd die for the cause

He wasn't quick, he wasn't great in defence, he was positively terrifying under the high ball, his link play didn't exist

But no one ran the ball back harder, no one would put their hand up for a carry more and simply he was one of us

Grix is just light years better as a player

Spot on with that code- plus Reilly would be first in if things got tasty!
He would have made an awesome prop in a different body!

You know what I ment! If we are competing with the top sides and putting the weaker sides out there to the sword then we should test the young blood! Rather than wait for a player to get injured and have our hand forced.

Cheeky one! Although a lot has to be said for fielding your strongest team week in week out it can be a detriment to the long term objectives while fielding a weaker side can run the risk of being turned over ahem Bradford and Salford cough cough

i think anderson regretted playing a weakened side against bradford, we went into the game against wigan underdone but also it was a short turnaround and the games previous were low intensity..hopefully the fixtures are kinder next season, the run in looks good
