have to say i agree, but prob put kev brown in for thorman and cudjoe in for goulding though im fans of them all!

cant disagree too much with that, others I would have considered.

I'd have Leroy in for Goulding.

What did Goulding ever do in a Giants shirt. Also as good as Danny Russell was he was not in the same class as Shaun Lunt

Goulding was a class act, problem was the other 12 in the team weren't in the same league as him so things he tried never came off.

Lunt is a very good player in a very good team, Danny Russell gave everything every week in a very poor team so gets my nod for that alone.

Danny Russell was one of the best players I have ever seen play in Superleague never mind for Fartown. He had literally no physical advantages, he wasn't blessed with explosive pace, he wasn't particularly big but he probably had one of the finest rugby brains you will see. His ability to create space with a deft flick of the wrist and shimmy of the feet was a joy to behold. He just made it all look so effortless. One of the best deals Ken Davy ever did was take Carlisle to a tribunal over him because whatever we paid he was an absolute bargain. I remember Carlisle coming to play at Leeds road and Danny Russell scored a hat trick and looking at him then he just looked head and shoulders over everyone on the pitch. If he had played for Carlisle after Bosman he would've been playing in the top flight long before he did for us (Ok that's not actually temporeally possible). Hell if it hadn't been for nepotism he would've been playing in the NRL.

Shaun Lunt is a very good hooker but Danny Russell was a fricking genius.

lunt is great but sticks in my mind sometimes that he never wanted to come back and play for us and wanted to stay at leeds, was very vocal about it too trying to engineer a move...some say you cant blame him and fair enough, he has proved to me last season though that we made the right choice bringing him back



ferres maybe..but not played long enough for us to get in the top 10 i feel over the others.

everyone has their own opinions but dont think chris roberts is far wrong with his 10.

used to love seeing the bobbie goulding bombs going up and over to the corners and those little legs jigging away at the line!

if you are looking at top quality oversses players i would add

Atkins. Love him. 50 tackles a game no bother and god knows how many metres. Hardest working player I've ever seen in a giants shirt. (Followed by adey toole- 90 minute prop and smoked up to 40 a day according to Ben Barton! He may have been pulling my leg!)

Rocket Rod Jensen would be in my top 10 - probably before Wild. Rod was electric to watch and a real fans favourite.

I meant dave atkins not lomax, agree about roarty, class act but didn't do it for long enough for me to warrant a place, same goes for Jensen, 12 games I think he played?

Anyone remember Albert Torrens? Only played 7 games for us, but scored 5 tries, including one in the last min to beat Wakey, could have been a real susperstar

Rod jenson had pace- but didn't offer anything else- and oh how BAD was he at fullback!
Torrens was a class act- just unlucky with a bad injury-- he wanted to stay but according to what he told me was treated pretty shoddily by the giants.

I would certainly have Chris Nero in the top 10, very strong player both in attack and defence. Mr reliable, a really reliable, classy player for us.

certainly deserves a mention...not far from being in the top 10...with wild and kev brown these really did bring the Giants a long way

Cannot believe Dean Hanger wasn't in the top ten, up there with Stanley for the X factor
Shame Wally Gibson was a bit before the super league he'd have been difficult to leave out

hangar was a key player before our super league days, I think he only played one season in super league era?
certainly a crowd pleaser and one of the best players I've seen in a fartown shirt, but not one of the top 10 in SL era.

Julian Bailey

what ever happened to Julian Bailey? he was a brilliant centre for us!

went back down under I believe, not spectacular but a good solid player for us at the time and did a very good job.

liked him but hardly in the top 10 super league players we have ever had is he. prob put him behind whatuira, cudjoe and evans just for the centre spots

Plus Wardle Nero de vere and Lolesi. In fact he would struggle to make the top 10 centres

If he stayed fit then Albert Torrens would be somewhere close to the top 10.
